Multiple Boot Os On Laptop

I have a laptop running W7, think the Hard drive is 300gig, is it possible to boot to run say five different versions Linux? Mint/SuSe etc.?

is this easy for a luddite like me?

These days I run versions of Linux from within Windows 7 using Oracle's VirtualBox. Free to use.

I've almost given up creating multi-boot systems - unless you start from scratch with a bare drive it's too scary re-partitioning disks. The last time I tried this with Linux Mint it trashed the boot sector on the primary drive (the boot loader couldn't cope with the latest type of BIOS) which rendered the whole system - Windows 7 as well - un-bootable.

So these days it's VirtualBox all the way. Less risky by a long shot.
