Genital Warts

18 posts in this topic

Um, how exactly do doctors treat these genital warts? Do they burn them off or freeze them off? Maybe other men on the forums have caught warts at some stage and can advise me on what happens at a clinic. I just want them gone so I can see women again. ;)

I'm amazed that Boots did not have anything in the store that can treat the warts, as it seems this sort of problem is common. I've seen acid solutions for sale on eBay that you can apply yourself, but I was told that this is not a good idea and the warts should only be treated to by a professional.

I don't fancy the thought of someone having to freeze my cock skin to get the warts removed, but if that's all they can do, I guess I need to be brave and go through with it. While I'm there, maybe they can cut away my damn sagging foreskin while they're at it, as that's just annoying me now. :(

Peter its safer for your willy if you go to a doctor. If you buy an acid treatment online and it goes wrong you may not be able to fix the damage where at least with the warts you at least know they can be fixed. I think the fact that its a freezing treatment meas that the pain would be reduced as the area would be numbed.

Im just assuming that last bit but if there is pain then considering the area being treated I would think your doctor would prescribe decently strong pain killers.

Just go and see your gp, its safer for you all round. Perhaps the fact that the largest and most successful chemist shop in the country does not sell these treatments means that they are either not safe or not legal in the uk, which  means the have not passed the uk safety tests.

Perhaps pop into a local lloyds pharmacy and have a quiet little chat with the pharmacist, not the counter girl, about the issue and ask him. I think though the word acid would imply that the treatment burns away the wart, which would mean it could very easily burn away other areas of your willy skin if you have a mishap or its not easy to apply. I would imagine this in itself would be very painful and you wouldnt have prescription painkillers to help deal with it.

Dont take the chance peter.

You get the virus from both vaginal and anal sex. And I've engaged in both. I still blame my skin for these problems, as the condoms don't roll on over my baggy skin properly. I always use the extra safe ones, but I always knew I was going to get unlucky one day because of my skin, which I just cannot stand anymore. However, I do think waiting to see a doctor would be for the best. After all, they probably deal with matters like mine all the time and can hopefully speed up my recovery. And I wouldn't even buy cheap Viagra online either, as it's cheap for a reason.

Agree wholeheartedly. There are many NHS GUM (Genito-Urinary Medicine) Clinics around. Most offer some kind of drop in service and anonymity is guaranteed. I strongly recommend you visit one of these excellent establishments, where you will get the best advice and treatment available.

Scouring the shelves of Boots and browsing Ebay for self help treatments is madness.

Go to your GP or the GUM clinic. Never try self treatment to such a sensitive area. You could do more harm than good.

Can someone explain what it is like to visit a GUM clinic for the first time please. I have been visiting escorts now for perhaps around 8 years but to date I don't believe I have caught anything but I feel I should visit one to make sure all is ok. I feel a bit embarrassed about it to be honest and don't fancy having to open up and discuss my infidelities. Questions I would have:-

1. Do you have to give your real name

2. Do they insist on sending the results to your doctor or can you insist they don't

Pathetic I know but some more info about them before I plan my visit

You can give a fake name, I told them it was not my real name and didn't want to give my address, they had no problem with it. You can call them back for the results so you don't need to give them your number either.

I always find going not fantastic, I do feel that telling someone my infidelities not the best thing for my morale. But I do think if I'm punting I need to look after the health of anyone I sleep with and my own. I do practice safe sex.

The visit is never pleasant, but I'm can put up with that to allow me the continue to punt.

I think this genital warts can be removed by operation and via laser. I don't know exactly the cost and how long is the curing period. My piece of advice is just be careful in choosing your partner and proper hygiene. Prevention is better than cure always.

I've never had genital warts but did have warts on my hands which is basicly the same thing, slightly different virus but uses the same treatment I believe..

The doctor just prescribed a freezing liquid to them and after ten days they just droped off.  After a month there was no signs or scars from them and one was huge.  Its also pain free as warts generally do not link with the nervous system, but get the liquid on normal skin and you will scream like a little girl!

Peter HPV can live in the throat so if you've had OWO it could be caught that way but it's rare.  There are various treatments available and both the warts and the foreskin can be dealt with via your doctor.  In some cases they will just go away if left but you can't be seeing girls while you have them.

I gave my punting name and e-mail address at the GUM clinic ad they were happy with that. That means they have almost no traceability back to my civvie life.

If im not mistaken this HPV is the cause of cervical cancer among women, the second deadly cancer disease aside from breast cancer.

And what criteria are you suggesting we adopt to exercise this care ?

You can't tell if someone has an STI by looking at their photo or reading their profile you know.

Yeah - I think the above user is correct. I mean, a lot of people who get diseases from using hookers and having unhealthy clients don't get any real obvious signs right away to see aware that they've caught something. They may not even feel unwell at all or experience discomfort until much later on after being infected and it's not really something that is noticeable down below all the time either unless you examined him or her rather closely beforehand. The minute you do see something is up with the person's private parts, then you'd know not to go ahead with having sex. But I'm kind of stating the obvious anyway. :P

As for my sex life in general; I've always found it odd how I can never attain an erection at will, or when I'm sexually excited. I sometimes wake up with an erection and this quickly goes away. Watching porn very occasionally gets me turned on, but that's kind of a hit and a miss thing, as you should never need porn to feel aroused. I often wonder how their dicks are massive, but they probably have "miracle cures" for this.

When I was younger, I was more physically active, so maybe exercise is what I need, as I frequently sit in front of my laptop for hours at a time and feel rather worked up at times. Stress is one cause of ED. When I was younger, just the sight of a girl got my dick raised. I do eat healthy foods, but I tend to craze sugary things. I don't have diabetes, but there is not much meat on my bones. Being skinny shouldn't affect my cock, but now I'm stuck with Viagra. It makes me feel sick afterwards because of its effect on blood flow. I had that feeling last night after seeing Johnny Marr play live. Must be my blood pressure, but it was the Johnny Marr after all. :D

That is good advice for all of us.There was a piece in the news this week stating that if we all took 150 minutes of exercise each week there would be enormous reductions id Diabetes, cancer, heart attacks etc.

You don't need to do violent aggressive stuff, but walking to the shops, a bit of gardening, riding a bike for an hour all bring increased general health.

It's bizarre how Viagra is all I can take to get over this issue. If it's Viagra, does that raise my blood pressure or lower it?
