Men and their willies.

What the hell is wrong with you guys? Today I have seen two men that have very tight foreskins. With both men I questioned why on earth they don't get it seen to, only to have them both laugh at me cover their privates with both hands and then grimace.

I just don't understand it, normally men put on such a macho image, accept when it comes to their meat and two veg. I find it hard to believe that these men will put up with uncomfortable sex for years on end before and if they ever get it seen to.

Then you have the other side of the coin. A couple of years ago my hubby contracted a condition called BXO its a genetic condition related to Arthritis that affects soft tissue instead of hard tissue, like the inside of your mouth or ear, in hubbies case it affected his Eurethra meaning he had to have a lot of surgery on his willy and that included losing his foreskin.

I'm not going to go into details as to what he had done, but one thing I will say is, if he hadn't ignored the tight foreskin in the first place his condition wouldn't have been anywhere near as bad as it was. Since his op, in his mind he's convinced his special little man is inches shorter which of course is absolutely stupid.

Another guy I've been chatting to for a while had his foreskin removed three years ago and hasn't been near a woman since, he is also is convinced he's half a man now he's had the snip, and nothing I say will convince him otherwise.

I will never as long as I live understand why you men aren't taking care of yourselves or putting yourselves through this. :(

I've seen this in porn and wondered the same thing. Surely there's a lack of sensation if it doesn't retract properly? :( And it must be difficult to wash.

Yes making it not only a prime breeding ground for infections, but unpleasant for the girlies to get their mouths around.

Generally I'm in favour of leaving one's chap intact but in this kind of situation, I don't know why guys don't just see the doc and get it sorted- life's too short.

Unfortunately men are much more likely than women to take a 'head in the sand' attitude to their health. :(

On the specific issue of foreskins- mine was apparently very tight right from the start so I was circumcised as a baby. As it was for medical rather than religious reasons the doc did not remove absolutely all the foreskin- so a bit like 'circumcision lite' (Possibly more information than you needed!)

Until the supposed "child abuse" activists got into the act a few years ago, yelling about how it should be a man's own decision, it was bog standard in the USA to remove them shortly after birth -- and not just for Jews, for everybody.

Never had a foreskin, never missed it, and from what I've heard, wouldn't want one anyway. Personally I think they make a man look like he's got a dog's pizzle.

Most of the girls I knew in the old country had never even seen one. No more had I, for that matter. They looked at pictures of Michelangelo's statue of David and said, "Ewww, what's wrong with him?" :(

I'll tell you something else that would seriously change the world: remove girls' hymens shortly after birth. It would simplify all kinds of things and put an end to a lot of the fear and bollocks about "virginity."

:( What?

Why don't you just remove the clit at the same time?!

No...no...no...no!

The snip is also more common than not in SA. My eldest son is snipped but my other two boys aren't. They told me it wouldn't hurt him but I saw the shock on his little face. :) :) I couldn't do it to my other boys.

Guys who haven't had it done seem to be more sensitive than those without a pull-over on.

I never could understand it too, Hannah. I also noticed that its quite common with UK men, whatever in Russian this condition ("phimosis") its rare. Probably something to do, that nurses in Russia constantly checking for it in boys infants during development, and I know such practice not implemented often here. After all: its not so painful to do even for a parents themselves when the boys under 2 years old. Only warm bath needed few gentle tugs, minimum blood if (if any at all), few tears and little guy "released" for a rest of his life. :).

Regarding that some men dont like to loose theirs foreskin during circumcision when they want to fix this condition later in life: There is a procedure available call "prepuce plasty", when foreskin is retracted from penis, but not cut off, as during circumcision. Though its not much less intrusive then full circumcision, but still a minor op.

Best of both words. So not any more excuses "That my willy appeared smaller after chop" lol.

Bloody nuisance when clients got it though. Its understandable then when girls end up to put a condom during oral, even if they offer it without generally. I am maybe a fan of mature stinky cheese, but not that mature. :(

Um... not quite the same thing, surely? It's not nearly as sensitive; often gets torn through intercourse or other activity anyway; and is entirely shredded by childbirth.

A great many cultures use it as an excuse to control women -- indeed, to sell them for large amounts of money.

I'm convinced women would be better off without them, just as men are without a foreskin.

I vote the girl decides what's right or wrong for her own body. Jeez, let's go back to the cooking pot that seats 10 comfortably shall we?

The same should be with circumcision. I'm sorry I every had my eldest son done. That should have been his decision, not mine.

My virginity was a very special thing to me, yes hymen and all. Some fucker decided it was his right to take it.

Typical fucking male!

Why should we feel special at all?

I think that's a rather silly comment. A bit like someone born with no sense of smell saying that from what he'd heard he wouldn't want to be able to smell.

The fact is that the foreskin has over 20,000 specialist nerve endings. A fact which is blindingly obvious to any man who has one.

There are a number of medical treatments available for a tight foreskin, and doctors in the UK long ago stopped recommending routine circumcision as the answer.

This idea I'm not at all comfortable with. For a lot of abused little girls, thats the only way they can prove they have been abused. No little girls should not be messed with.

Phimosis (as Xenia quite rightly called it), in men in the UK is quite common. I would say a good 30%, if not more of my clients have it.

Its a condition that often is associated with Diabete's but not always, the foreskin just gets that tight its impossible to pull it back at all. I know these days that its often sorted with a little nick in the shape of a V to loosen it. It just really annoys me that men are so afraid to get it sorted and will leave something like this for years, risking allsorts of nasty illnesses in the long run also difficulties with hygiene and sex as well. It just doesn't make a lot of sense to me at all.

Just to correct things I wasn't suggesting that men get circumcised just for the hell of it or for some cultural reason.

I'm talking about those guys that have a hole the size of a pencil in the end of their foreskin, that can hardly pee through it and definately can't pull it back.

I am not sure I understand too and I am a man :) :)

It is a problem and even so with more serious diseases like prostrate cancer which is on the increase

If what he'd heard was that a sense of smell brought with it an increased risk of quite a number of diseases and a constant hassle to keep clean, he might very well say that. You don't miss what you never had.

Some number of people are born without wisdom teeth, too, the lucky bastards. I doubt that it distresses them.

I read somewhere once that a percentage of men - might have been 20% - who get circumcised as adults can't get an erection ever again. I'm not sure if that is true or not, but I definitely read it somewhere. What are the alternatives to circumcision that Uk doctors are now recommending for adult men then?

Of course little girls should not be messed with, but I'm not sure that potential criminal forensic investigation is the best reason for retaining them. And abusers can certainly abuse girls, and boys too, without leaving marks. You have only to look at history to see how it's treated as an excuse for controlling women, even to this day in large parts of the world.

As far as I'm concerned the entire concept of virginity is complete bollocks in both men and women. Look at all the misery it causes. At least men don't have a visible sign, nor any pain on losing it; and they are spared the humiliation of having their mothers-in-law hang the bloody sheets out the window after the wedding night.

Oh yes, sorry.

Also, I've hard that men you get circumcised have to stay in hospital a few days, wear a bandage and going to the toilet feels like pissing glass.

I had mine done at 18 because sex was bloody painful and it sort of acted like an arab strap round the bell end.

I actually much prefer it but at the time (18) it hurt like hell! The Op was fine, it was just the bastard in the next bed thought it was funny to flash me pictures from Mayfair magazine. This gave me a hard on and mucked up the stitches. No amount of oestroegen worked to keep it down. Then there were those bloody sexy nurses............:(

Hannah, that sort of describes me (sorry if that disappoints :().

When I don't have an erection, I can pull the foreskin back, and do so for hygiene etc, but it feels very uncomfortable and, if the tip of the penis is touched while exposed, it can be quite painful.

Once I am erect, there is no way the foreskin will retract fully, but I am told, and I am inclined to believe it, that it provides a stronger and more pleasurable sensation during sex. It does for me anyway.

I have heard horror stories of blokes that have gone in for the chop and have had significant pain for weeks, while getting used to clothing etc touching the top of the penis. Being a complete wimp, I am not sure I would want to put myself through that without 100% evidence that it would give me a better sensation during sex, which I personally doubt.

In the same way that I would prefer WGs breasts to remain natural, I am content to remain natural with my foreskin.

Hygiene is, of course, a completely different matter. I grew up in the days when sex advice from parents and schools was non-existent (my dad tried to tell me the facts of life on the morning of my wedding!!!) and I didn't know, because no-one ever said, that you should draw back the foreskin to clean off the build up of smegma, or whatever its called. Cleanliness was achieved, or so I thought, by having a bath. (Real confession time coming up here, and stand by for being blasted!) When I first started punting, I had no idea why, after round one, I would sometimes see white bits emerging from under the foreskin, and seriously had no idea whether this was natural or due to an infection. It didn't happen every time and I therefore dismissed it as one of life's imponderables. It took a very gentle and diplomatic WG (to whom I will always be grateful) to tell me what it probably was and, since then, I have followed a stricter hygiene routine of drawing the foreskin back and washing thoroughly.

I apologise if I have gone into far too much detail (especially to those who are reaching for the sick bowl) but I thought someone should come clean (sorry!!) on this subject.

We are mysterious beings, are we not?

I am bracing myself for the following verbal abuse....:)

They do have to stay in hospital for a couple of days (thats if they have a full circumcision), no they don't wear a bandage, its more like a pad placed over the penis, and no they don't have to pee for a few days because they are normally catheterised.

If its just the V shaped nick they are having done to loosen the foreskin thats a nothing operation and could soon be offered by your local GP.

Either way it has to be worth getting it done. Whats a couple of days discomfort compared to a lifetime of uncomfortable and even painfull sex?

....:)

The men I am talking about wouldn't be able to pull it back to wash even when soft. The foreskin actually thickens very much like a band and over the years will constrict even more untill it has no flexability at all.

These men often when getting to this point can't even have penetrative sex as its too painful.

The laugh is as a woman I would much much rather have a nice clean cut penis in front of me than a smelly uncut one.

I know the old chestnut, am I going to be able to wank or have sex or even get it up, if have the op? is asked over and over again (my hubbies specialist told him that he thought to much and recommended he read the quran rather than focus on 'is his willy smaller'). lol
