Photogenics, Airbrushing And Profile Pictures.

42 posts in this topic

From my short time on this site I have seen that there seems to be a huge problem in general with what are being described as 'airbrushed' photos.

I can understand why people would have a problem with heavily edited photos, but as my photographer has said, images need a little bit of editing to take into account that still images allow people to focus on things they would either not notice or care about in real life, especially at larger resolutions.

Still images are not flattering, unless taken with perfect lighting, at low resolution, or slightly cleaned up, that is just the truth of the matter. I am a camgirl, and I feel that I am much more 'videogenic' than photogenic, it's more natural to appreciate a body in motion.

For myself, I get a lot of compliments, I am regarded as attractive, and feminine, for a transsexual performer, certainly better than average, but I really don't believe still images do me a great deal of justice, maybe that's my amatuer photographer (though hes a good amatuer), or my bad choice of pose, bad lighting or whatever. We're both still learning.

So, discussion on 'editing' and resolution for profile photos?

How do you feel about it all?

I myself call only girls with unedited photos.  Yes, unedited photos can be unflattering, but I know that and it is actually a benefit, because then girl always look better in the flesh and that is always a pleasant surprise.

However, if a friend of mine turned escort and asked me for advice, I would recommend that she had her photos edited, because most clients don't mind. Sure, most clients whine about airbrushing, but then they book anyway.  If airbrushing didn't sell, then it wouldn't be so widespread. It is that simple.

I am known for using very limited editing on profile pics, resizing, removal of temporary blemishes or lines not usually present and I have sometimes had a small tattoo taken off, although it mostly gets concealed by the posing.

I have seen photos on some Escort website which are photoshopped to the point where to me they are not realistic. Some SPs and some customers are fine with this, they look upon it as the advertiser making them look their best. Others however do not like it and a third portion just don't notice or don't recognise it. They are too carried away in the fantasy experience.

As someone who doesn't have her skin smoothed to perfection I feel much more confident meeting new clients, most actually say I look better in real life. Whilst I do prefer to be on that side of the equation, it can be difficult when you know heads are being turned by some fabulously adjusted photos, it can feel as if they'll get all the attention and from this comes the pressure and incentive for some ladies to match up to the same standard. I prefer peace of mind and will stick with my current policy of minimal adjustment.

I would only ever edit my photos to the point that I look either the same in real life or better, otherwise it's disingenuous, as I said, just to allow for the general unflattering affects of still images.

I'm a pro photographer, the human eye is not as fussy about details as a camera is, so I always do a little photoshop to get the person looking in a pic the same as she would to the human eye, or a little better. When faced with a living, breathing, mobile female a normal male will not zero on the imperfections that a camera reveals so perfectly.

Which is exactly what I was told before. :)

So, how do escorts who publish self shots taken in the mirror with their mobile phones manage to look so hot? Could it be that cameras are fussy about details, but normal males won't zero on them?

It is true, though, that some home-made photos are taken under the worst possible lighting conditions, but that is easily avoided.

Low resolution, as I mentioned earlier.

Shots taken in a mirror with a mobile phone have plenty of "photoshopping", the focus is off, camera shake, mirror distortion, shallow depth of field all adds up to a massive blur factor. My Nikon with the best lenses and studio flash lighting and large depth of field reveals everything and produces very crisp images.

ps why does time go so slowly when you are waiting for a girl to knock on the door? massage table is ready, heaters on and time has slowed down to a crawl!!!

What he said, it's competely different from the absolutely huge resolution pictures my photographer takes of me.

Then the solution could be to shoot photos less precisely, instead of fixing them later.

The point is that we look at photos to get an idea of what an escort looks like, so we mentally make the necessary corrections. On the other hand, if an escort looks perfect in her pictures, the reality could be disappointing.

Oh yes I can make them perfect but that would be going too far. The trick is to make them look like you see them when you are just dying to have sex. Its easier to take them properly then you have the control in photoshop. If you use flat lighting and a diffusion screen or shallow depth of field that might be too much which is more difficult to correct backwards in photoshop. Damn just had a call from the escort to say she is stuck in a jam and will be an hour late!!!

Lighttouch, would you mind posting some links of what you would consider "natural looking" airbrushed photos?  If there are some "before/after", it would be even better.  Thank you.

From what I have seen, my opinion is that photos shot with low-end cameras with good lighting are the best.  Professional photos shot with high-end cameras show too much detail, hence the need for airbrushing to make them look less crude.

Just researching for London. The use of airbrushing/photoshopping is endemic and very off putting. I instantly dont believe what I'm looking at. Depressing.!

Is there any 100% reliable agency, where what you see is what you get ?

'What you see is what you get' might depress you a bit if you are to stay longer with an escort who is not even grateful for making all the money she cannot otherwise make in her country in such a short time.  I always believed the eyes are a mirror of a soul and sometimes I am horrified what I read when I come across some girls in a Nail Salon for example, if by chance I do not understand their language.  With some you have to really struggle to see any similarities with their online pictures. It really went down the hill in the last 7 years.

There are apps to touch up selfless on your phone plus to blur your face. Have you not seen some of those fb selflies some people put up..OMG its ridiculous.

A good photographer won't even need to touch someone up much. If they spend time on the lighting of each shot then they can produce lovely pictures. I dont mean having the girl in half darkness either x

I dont understand A comment totally either but I have opened the door in my mke days and thought it was just some ramdom woman knocking on the wrong door. Turned out each time it was my new girl…who was totally unrecognisable compared to her pictures, I'm talking facial photoshop, even with  make up..nothing like the face in the pictures. Turned out she had her cheekbones highlighted and her piggy nostrils stretched down to look not piggy. Incredible

I myself do not have any edited or airbrushed photos.. I think there is a fine line between the natural look and then going overboard to mislead the client xx

Niether do I. I was just saying that it is possible to edit selfless because I was searching for an app to blur my face rather than try to take them from funny angles as I do not show my face online and I came across a plethora of photoshop apps in the app store. I found one thats easy to pixelate my face but ended up not using it anyway as most of the time I forget its even there x

I've recently took some shots of a friend and used a good app to blur faces. If I can find it I'll inbox you the name xx

All very simple to me, if i dont fancy the real WG in the flesh because her photos were not an accurate representation of what she actually looks like i will walk and she loses my business. Its not often i have walked as i didnt fancy a WG though, its been more because her attitude was bad, or she said she didnt actually offer a service or services she had confirmed she did on the phone an hour before, or the price had increased since we spoke on the phone, or a mixture of those.

I wont be pissed about nowadays, the days of me thinking with my dick like all bad WGs rely on punters doing are long gone.

I punt in good faith ALWAYS without fail having the agreed money, ensuring i am clean and on time, in exchange i expect a WG to look as she did in her photos and offer me a good service at the price agreed, all with a good attitude.
