Been Asked To Pay Deposit To Bank Account. Scam?

36 posts in this topic

Okay, my natural cynicism is being overriden by my nethers

WG has asked for a deposit to be paid before we meet. Not much but I hate being conned.

She's given me bank details.

First thought - scam. Second thought since I really want a roll around with her (if she's genuine) is that I'll speak to her on phone right before paying then see where it goes.

Yes, I know that I'm thinking with my cock more than my brain. But aren't we all? :)

Advice?

Entirely up to you, you do however have the choice  of booking someone else.

I ask for a deposit if the travel is significant, or client can't/won't provide address verification, or it's someone who has let me down a couple of times and or been a big suspicious in their texting and generally faffing around. Some pay it, some have even volunteered a deposit without me asking, most faffers/cancellers won't or will want to pay it a different way.

Each time they have the choice of seeing someone else.

With someone unknown you could be scammed. If you really want to see her and can afford to lose the money then that is your choice.

the norm is cash when you meet.  I would be very wary.

50%, £45

Not much at all but I hate being scammed and wasting time. Getting to the bank, getting to location then finding out I've been screwed over. She's given me an address that seems legit and the photos seem legit.

It's just my spidey senses tingling a bit.

Hi Strawberry,

thanks - she says she's brand new to this and just being cautious which I can appreciate. Doing some research on her number has not yielded any red flags so I guess she could be legit. Glad to hear that its not that unique.

If you don't mind me asking, how do clients pay deposit for you? Did you ask for the paying in slip photo? That to me makes it seem kind of legit. If it was a scam why would you bother?

Was tempted to see her tonight but not sure how I'd do that with banks being closed :)

Small deposit OK for outcall but definitely not incall. The girl should have some good feedback and it will help if you do too.

It is sufficiently rare as to ring bells with most experienced punters. OK, if it is just a tenner you might feel it a risk worth taking, but any more than that would be more than I would be prepared to risk. As others have said, there are plenty of ladies who do not put such obstacles in the way of a good punt.

I would book elsewhere if I were in your shoes.

Deposit? No way. On arrival, cash is king. :)

At her place or an outcall for her?

If it is at her place, then no way. If she has to travel to you, then I understand her reasoning, but I would check any feedback on her, FRs etc.

Taking 50% deposit and then not showing up is a very good way to earn a dishonest living, and is probably male operated. .

At her place - a fairly plush location in SW London so not a dark alley in the middle of East London :)

This is my thought process.

Definitely an easy scam to pull.

However, why the hell send a photo of receipt?

Why give address?

She hasn't got an AW profile and sounds like she's new to the game.

However, this has just been text tennis so far and unless I speak to her in person tomorrow morning when we've got our appointment booked, I'm not going to follow through. If I do speak to her I'm tempted.

Wonder if she would FaceTime to confirm? :)

It's up to you. Maybe it's legit maybe it isn't. If it isn't legit then that's £45 you will never see again.

Personally if a WG wanted any payment before we met I would politely decline and look for another WG to book.

Thanks.

Main reason for posting was to give me some time to let a bit more logic seep into thought process. All the suggestions and opinions posted here appreciated.

If I do get scammed I'll post details on the forum and visit pornhub :)

You don't say where she is, or how long a booking you are making but £90 for an hour seems a bit too cheap to me. I would suspect a scam even more in this case.

That's a good point. Location is just off Vauxhall. Supposedly a luxury flat. Yeah, £90 does seem too cheap. I usually pay that for FBSM

Experienced ladies who have clients that can testify to making deposits with field reports would not concern me.

A newbie to the industry sounds suspicious.

I've done this. £10 for a well established party organiser. Legit, OK.

The clue is the amount. Small enough to have a chance of getting it. Large enough to be worth getting.

DONT!

It sounds a bit dodgy to me.

It's a different story if paying a deposit for an overnight or a previous client who has let you down a few times etc, I think the girl is a fool to give out bank details and address which makes me really suspicious and suspect it's a scam.

If you really do still want to see her I would suggest a £10 mobile top up as a way of letting her know your genuine, that's what I do when a new client wants to book a pamper day or a three or four hour booking and you of course can keep your anonymity.

The is one persistent (male) scammer who uses various profiles around the name "Bex" and the account is at Barclays Bank.

The pictures are stolen from an American Webcammer, "GotGisele."

I can see why an escort would require a deposit for a booking that meant paying for  travel or booking a hotel room in advance that would leave her out of pocket if the client doesn't show up. I do know one woman who charges all clients a deposit and she is totally legit and genuine. It's how she chooses to work and of course if it were her you were booking and researched you'd find she was an established well thought of escort with reviews and an established long term website.

However, a newbie who can't be vouched for and verified would set my alarm bells off. Of course she might be as honest as the day is long, but she can't expect to be trusted unless she has some credentials to assure the client.

Even though it is only £45 she only needs a few a day to make a tidy sum and maybe working on the basis that men will think oh it's 'only £45'.

Cash on arrival only for me, if she insists on a deposit I would offer her a £5 mobile phone voucher number of her choice, if she was not happy with that, thank her for the chat and move on to the next search engine result.

I never heard of a girl asking for deposit unless she is to travel to a further away or overseas destination, so my advice is to steer away from this.

Strawberry makes her point well, and under those circumstances I can understand the need for a deposit.  Otherwise, it's a definite no-no.  £90 for an hour in south London, shouldn't necessitate a 50% deposit. It's got DODGY written all over it.

I once paid a £50 deposit in advance.  I travelled 140 miles in a round trip to see the girl, and she blew me out.  However, she did rearrange and honour the previous agreement.  But I learned.  Never again will I pay a deposit in advance.

My advice would be to avoid this girl and look elsewhere.

Deposits are unusual but not at all unheard of. I've asked for them for the reasons Strawberry's listed, and sometimes if I'm out of town and my accommodation means I'll be out of pocket if people don't show up. Some ladies I know only take clients who are willing to put down a deposit. It's up to you, really. See someone else if you're not sure.
