Is Hod The Only Brothel In Central London?

11 posts in this topic

Hello. I am wondering if House of Divine is the only brothel in Central London. I mean a confortable place, in 1 area, clean with reasonable prices. Not something like Soho.

Thank you

Well so is the Indian Palace, and the London Retreat (though the latter have one girl working usually, rather than two which is the technical requirement for a brothel)

HOD South Ken is the nicest in terms of setting, professionalism, price and general quality of girls (HOD St John's Wood is technically not Central London and I haven't been to it so can't comment on how nice it is, though indications seem to be that it is nicer than the Maida Vale flat they had before).

London Retreat is excellent for more specialised BDSM, or even just exploring a slightly more kinky experience without any hard stuff, again in a comfortable setting. I've never had a bad experience there though some girls are definitely better than others.

Indian Palace is definitely not what it used to be, some of their most popular girls have left recently after being there for several years, and currently almost all their girls are very new. They offer plain vanilla services, all covered.

Best to read reviews of girls before going and meeting them, I have personally generally had excellent experiences at HOD with the well-reviewed girls while spontaneous meetings with their new girls have almost never been very memorable.

Is HOD happy being referred to as a brothel and are there legal implication?

There are technically no 'brothels' in the UK since Victorian times. The OP means sex establishments that are technically legit. I think.

They certainly do not describe themselves in those terms on their website.

B------ implies low class knocking shop to me whereas HoD is the complete opposite and I would never use that word to describe them.

If HoD is to be described as a brothel then the OP should be called a whorehouse enquiring adulterer (assuming he is married, like most of us). Pardon me, but the tone of language used requires a proportionate response.

Why is everyone getting so upset by the op using the word brothel?Dictionary def is a house or other place where men pay to have sexual intercourse with prostitutes.Would you not agree that it fits?

I simply pay for the girls company, anything else that goes on behind a closed door is between consenting adults and nothing to do with the establishment ^_^

That's not accurate, certainly not technically (by which I presume we are talking about the legal definition). Any premises from which more than one person is providing sexual services would under the law constitute a brothel.

I presume they wouldn't be happy since brothels are not legal! Law enforcement probably doesn't care because they are focused on actual trafficking rather than well-run establishments like HOD which don't disrupt the peace, keep a low profile and where girls are clearly working voluntarily (though there have been rare raids in Milton Keynes for example, usually politically motivated)

Pragmatically, I think HOD are very sensible given their SK location in sticking to not more than two girls. If they had 3 and certainly 4, the number of men going in and out of the premises would probably reach a level to attract attention from the neighbours.

Under the law the punters going to HOD are not doing anything illegal while on the premises.

A lot of people would agree with you in terms of the social connotation of the term, though it is somewhat limited. For instance mega-brothels in Germany have incredibly elaborate and luxurious settings with stunning girls - they'll have 50 or more stunners who will all be better looking than 80% of even the HOD girls.

and I would never use that word to describe them.

While I respect your opinion, there's a clear legal definition which disagrees with you and is important to remember given this is an industry fraught with various legal implications.

I think we are getting a bit over-excited here, time to close perhaps as it's going nowhere that we haven't been before, lots  ;)
