Sometimes You Get Surprised..

9 posts in this topic

I had a client today who told me that because he does not want to become a member on adultwork (as do not feel confident hiding his tracks, etc) some girls have refused to see him as he does not have any feedback anywhere. He was asked to send a deposit to secure a booking. I did not think this was such a standard practice but it appears some girls do this and I can only gather that they insist on only taking bookings via the system on adultwork.

He sent the whole appointment fee in cash (as he thought might as well) in the post before the booking was due, not just once but with three ladies!

I told him that this is really not a good idea and as nice as it is, he could be done badly on that one. But every one of those three bookings went ahead and the ladies were lovely.

So maybe he chose well and I suppose he had an address.  Still not sure I think a wise move though!

I am amazed that anyone would do this but even more amazed (and this says a lot about my faith in human nature) that all three ladies responded positively. Good for them.

Sending the appointment fee in advance is certainly not a good idea as you say, Pia, as numerous posts here over the years have shown. It reflects a certain degree of naivety from your client as to the probity of all WGs and I’m glad that in his case it seems to have worked out OK.

However, I do find his explanation a little odd. If he hasn’t registered with AW then he can only have contacted ladies who display a private telephone no. or email address, and if so, why should they be concerned as to whether their prospective client is a member of AW or not?

Although I do have an AW account, I hardly ever log onto it and certainly have never submitted (or received) any feedback, and only contact ladies who do display either telephone or email address.

2nd rule of punting. dont part with the brass till you are at the punt.  Sorry, why would you do anything else?

If ladies put up barriers to making a booking that are not acceptable to you, look elsewhere.

(I am not saying all WGls are dishonest, but you only need one, and a punt is a fair wedge of cash.)

oh, and in case you are wondering, first rule of punting is price is no indication of quality.

I think that the overwhelming majority of people, including both punters and WGs are honest. However, not all are. It probably isn't surprising that Pia's client hasn't been rooked yet after 3 bookings, but rest assured, he will come a cropper if he continues. And as an non member of adultwork, he won't even be able to leave feedback about it. Normal caution as a minimum should apply to these transactions. I wouldn't post money to a plumber before he had started work. Why do it with an escort ?

Hopefully he takes heed of your advice, as sooner or later he's bound to lose out - even though I agree with the above posters that there are more honest wg's than dishonest ones, certainly in my experience.

On the flip side about surprises, apart from my very first punt where the wg disappeared into another room for a moment, not one other wg I've seen has checked the money I've given them. Even one who had a substantial sum in an envelope for an overnight booking - she put the envelope on the dresser in the room and left it there, still unopened, until the next morning - and just picked it up along with her other things when she left.

My thoughts exactly: as he is not registered, there are only certain things he can do on AW and only if the girl chooses to display her telephone number or email address etc  And how did he send the deposit money?  Did the girl give her bank details?

I did find it odd to start with but it was definitely genuine. I gathered it was A/W he was talking about when talking about no feedback as know no other sites which has feedback on clients. He booked me three weeks before and offered to send me the money then (which I refused), so maybe it is just a matter of some girls saying yes to the payment upfront but he did say some asked for a deposit.
