You haven't seen much on here regarding Phils, because this is a UK centric board, if you want info on PI I'd look on a board that specialises on the country, like Phillipines Addicts, or the Internationalsexguide. If I was you I'd cut out Manila, and spend your spare time in AC, what resort will you be diving from?

JimmyRedCab posted 2  detailed reports on his trip to Manila & Angeles City . I think i read them back in 2006.

At the time i was in 2 minds on whether to go back to Bangkok or to head to a new place for me in SEA ,Manila .

.I asked here for opinions at the time ,re Hotels ,prices ,safety in the 2 countries and the overwhelming verdict was LOS over Philippines . And it was the correct verdict .

..

That said, Pinay girls are easier to communicate with on account of their spoken English as i found out recently in my Chat & Flirt calls with a Pinay girl i met when i first made a call to a Techie Help call center . To be on the safe side financially, i told her that i am a heavy gambler so unexpected requests for wired cash can't be met .  .

If you are in Makati go to cafe Havana in the Greenbelt shopping mall .

A great place .. Good live music , and loads of attractive freelancers eager to go back to your hotel . Just stand at the bar and they will come over and chat , but without hassling you the way gogo girls do.

I was there last November

If u r scubadiving in Bohol, then Cebu has an ok scene and very close. It is also a much nicer place than Manila which is an unapologetic shithole.

The Thailand v Philippines bi-polar is fiercely deb8d on many mongering sites and I'm glad we dont have to deal with it here. The travelling guys here including myself are all pro-Thailand.

Meeting Philippinas online is very easy but only a matter of time b4 the 1st request for funds will appear. The sad truth is that for a lot of them it is the only way to get money, particularly for students and single moms of which there are a shitload still in their teenz. I have been guilty on occasions on wiring some pesos, like yesterday, for an emergency situation. Yap, it could be a total fib but I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt. I would never wire dosh to a woman who had a job. The call centers (nearly all in Cebu) pay well, like 20,000 pesos a month. The average daily wage in Cebu for working in a shop is .... 100 pesos (12 hours). Thats about 1.50 UK squid

Funny that he starts this thread, but can't be bothered to return and post, newbies like him piss me off, all you get are lots of questions, and no feedback.

JB . I couldn't agree more . But the OP is not exactly a newbie .

As you know this is the sort of pattern here on Rest Of The World Forum by quite few posters .

Hey guys firstly SORRY for the late reply I did not receive any notifications and haven't had much time online

Thanks a lot for the replies, I was just surprised that there was a lot on Thailand but nothing on phil, but then philippines is not as tourist friendly but is supposed to be a "mongers paradise" from what I have read and the girls have more of a body unlike the skinny things in bkk

I have read about cafe havanna and meeting girls on sites like DIA but with only few days in manila and 3 in angeles I don't have time to wine and dine first! Also I didn't feel comfortable with FL's in Thailand due to the scams you read about with police officers coming into your room and asking for bribes claiming they r underage

So I have decided to stay In makati (burgos st) the main area as it's safe even though expensive v angeles, before hitting angeles, still haven't got a clue on the best bars but have found a guy living there from the USA who will show me around

Regarding the scuba I will be doing my advanced open water in Palawan (el nido) which is supposed to be paradise! Cebu/subic bay got mentioned but don't have time to fit it all in.

As I did with my Thailand trip (not too further down!) last yr, will report back

Any other suggestions welcome

@nn

Just a couple of factual innacuracies

The police/underage scams is very much an Angeles thing - never ever take a FL from the street, the bars there are safe

Did you really find Thai girls skinny? Yap there are some but u could also say the same about the PI.

Have a safe trip! Look 4ward to ur report. Be careful of pickpockets

The Phillipines is a wonderful place for cheap quality action. Iv had girls (18+) for as low as 500 php about £7.00 to £10.00 BJ and full sex. She will be with you for at least 2 hours. Sometimes they will want to stay overnight, dont allow em to do that.

If you go into the bars you will pay 3000 + php (your overpaying), the best thing to do is go into a massage place and give your number out, go into the mall and try to court a hot Fillipina, takes abit of courage to approch any girl like that but once your over there in the Phils for a couple of weeks you will start to chill out and become abit more relaxed and start doing some crazy things, girls are EVERYWHERE there, they are VERY VERY friendly and approachable. Sometimes they will even start chatting you up, lol. Iv never seen a Filipina girl with ear plugs in looking at the ground...Im going this Nov for 2 months, the great thing about the Phillipines is there is a surprise around every corner. You will meet girls in places you never thought you could meet them. lol. Also try the internet, fillipinacupid  Tons of active girls on there who will be in your local area looking for guys. I met a girl once that I got off the internet there, I met her that day, she came into my apartment and within 20 min I had her in bed. Just dont let down your guard down, always smile and look smart and you will have a great time.

The Hobbit House in Manila is hilarious and as un-PC a place as you will find anywhere on this planet of ours! Brilliant!!!!!!

Angeles City - just turn up and go with the flow - most of the bars change names/owners at least twice a year and girls move around....just have a chat with someone whose been there a week or two for best recoms. Don't over think it - just do it - as the famous slogan goes.....

Like it or not, Philippines will soon be the only affordable punting destination for the man on the street left in the whole of SE Asia (unless you got the balls to travel to Myanmar) :(

There has been a significant influx of refugee jurassickos recently from Pattaya and Bangkok, not to mention Europe and the USA, into the likes of Cebu and Angeles bcoz Thailand has become 2 expensive for most guys on a modest pension. The median age in the country is 22 and actually getting lower while the rest of the world with the exception of sub-Saharan Africa is going in the other direction. If u figure that about one third of the population live on or below the poverty line, that is a lot of young girls who will shack up with n e 1 regardless of age which makes the country the last resort 4 dudes who just cant laid or find a wife n e where else in the world   Its kinda sad reading about guys on other monger boards boasting about their conquests when it is the ultim8 shooting-fish-in-a-barrel destination.

The whole country is a shithole and even places which should be nice are not maintained. Hotels and resorts are generally run down. The food is shite. Its reputation for attrcting pedos is so bad now that frequent single male travellers there can expect have their movements digitally tracked (this is reliable info). The local people are corrupt and dishonest from top down to bottom and petty crime is everywhere. But its cheap

I'm yet to visit the PI, but a lot of what you say does ring true, If Thailand is still considered 3rd world, PI must be 4th world, not that many Thai people want to leave their country, look at the Philippines and so many want a Visa to anywhere abroad.

Thais do have more opportunities these days, one reason why less young talent is to be found in the farang bars, but wages don't seem to of shot up for most working class Thais.

Minimum wages recently increased. Though most people don't get pay-raises. We simply don't have a practice of keeping salaries up with inflation...

The opportunities part is true. More and more people are going to Uni, actually very easy to get in these days. The economy is still an ASEAN major power despite natural disasters and awful political climate.

As I've complained with Tiggy 7 in other threads, what AEC is bringing though is mobility of people in poorer countries like Myanmar, Cambodia, etc to move to Thailand, which mostly means Bangkok, some other economic hubs and border towns. Our factories are filled with them and they've recently started spilling onto other industries.

Hey, won't be too long before I'm punting some smooth-skinned pretty Myanmese WGs for 1,000 baht ST

So the ASEAN open borders for labour is really going to happen? I never thought Thailand would go that far, ok you've had Burmese and Cambodians working in construction, but letting foreigners come to work in the rest of the labour market, can't see that running smoothly.

It's already happening Jerboa. These days I see immigrant workers in restaurants (even the 1,000+ baht ones. Tough to make an order sometimes lol) and I've even seen a Burmese cashier in iStudio! So surely when the processes become 100% complete we'll continue to see them more and more. The legal migrant workers can even now utilised our subsidised healthcare (miles ahead of our neighbors for sure) with a little bit extra. I agree that we'll probably have a rocky start.

One of my favorite eating spots on Sukhumvit in BKK is the Korean restaurants block down towards Cowboy but other side of the road. I have been in 3 of them and virtually all the staff are from Myanmar. Some are students at Thai unis bcoz I asked them

In the bars in Saphan Kwai, you will find girls from Lao. Also in some of the dodgier locals FL spots

I have even met Philippinas, looking after old Thai-Chinese people. The band at that downstairs place on Sukhumvit between sois 5 and 7 got a live Philippina band on every nite

Although I complain a lot about the PI, I still go there, mainly bcoz Cebu is only 4 hourz direct flight from Tokyo and I can do a long weekend if required. The locals are friendly and treat foreign visitors better than they treat their own. Fantastic live music everywhere and cheap beer. But since most of the guys here are in the UK, I would not recommend n e 1 with only 3 weeks vacation to travel all that way when they could go to Thailand

Yes I had heard about this a couple of years ago, but always thought of it as pie in the sky, as tbf Thailand can be very protective of its labour market, for example, a farang bar owner isn't even allowed to be behind his own bar.

Does this mean that from now on Burmese, Indo, Filipina, Viet girls will be replacing the girls at the gogo's? Hopefully they will be friendlier than many of the spoilt Thai gogo divas.

We're never actually protective of the labour market. It's more protecting Thai businesses and Thai land-ownership with those policies. Farangs tend to be much more enterprising! Their competitiveness and effectiveness would probably drive a lot of the inefficient Thai business owners out of business! We're too "sabai" to cope with all that competition.

Not sure of their friendliness as I've yet to punt with one. But we'll probably see the sex industry revolution like when EE girls flocked to Western Europe. There're positives and negatives sides from that. There could likely be some price-competition. Wether it'll drive up services level remains to be seen.

Oh Witty let's hope so, I've seen the decline in the Thai bargirls standards, and read numerous reports from other punters, they think their shit don't stink, a bit of healthy competition might just wake them up and smell the som tam.
