Suck

which is more profitable?

43 posts in this topic

If you work in a parlour for 12 hours, would you earn more money if you just did half hour bookings? I hope I can explain my thoughts here, bear with me.....

Generally, if a punter pays for an hour booking (or more) he will probably clock watch and will expect to get his full hour. If a punter pays for a half hour slot, he is likely to want to shoot and go and therefore, time is not his immediate concern.

So.... I have read often here and on other forums, that punters show their appreciation to working girls by booking longer sessions when in reality, they may be causing their favorite wg to lose the potential to earn as much money as they may be able to.

I know I generalise here and some wg's don't have the client base to worry about this issue. But I just wondered.

Why do guys continue to discuss how we run out businesses?

You wouldn't discuss how a tradesman works out his prices, which jobs he takes on his profitability etc on a forum where people were looking for advice on renovating or building a house.

It also amazes me that they feel the need to 'guide' us to do things better!

If part of that forum's remit was discussing professionals who perform that service for you, then yes you would. People inevitably question working practices and price for every sector, and you'd be naive to expect that it wouldn't happen here.

That said, it's one of those issues that has been done to death and I do understand your frustration. I don't necessarily disagree with your senitment, just your analogy.

Yes, its your businesses, but its our hobby, which can become a bit obsessive, especially for us early mroning posters. Do you think that if punters punted more there would be fewer discussion points like this on this forum ?

I would hope that if the lady felt she was losing out, she would use her business sense and offer shorter bookings. :D

Parlours typically seem to set their charging structure to promote shorter bookings, i say this because one hour full service in a london parlour type situation can run to £180-£200 quite easily.

I still stick by my analogy - some clients try to give advice on rates, bookings etc. Sometimes it's useful but I wouldn't think they would do the same with a plumber who was working at their house - ask him how much he earned and advise him on the sort of jobs he should be doing. I've worked in many sectors myself and never seen this level of involvement in the business by customers.

I also frequent other forums on other subject areas and whilst good deals for related products/services might be discussed they generally don't start disecting the business or telling the providers how to run themselves.

Surely as 'punters' you should be more interested in getting a good service than the profit margins of that provider.

There is no answer as every booking is different. A half hour can decide he wants to go after losing control after 10mins, a half hour can arrive late and shower each side of his booking taking nearly an hour of your time. Each booking is different and a lady will have arranged her diary around the time slot allocated. She won't suddenly be able to pull another client off the street just because one left early, it is also the same for no shows. You wait 15 mins to give them the benefit of the doubt knowing you have just truned away a regulat client that would have shown up.

One hour bookings are no different and earn you no more. Some men book 2 hours because they are busy men and want the space allocated but will only use 45 mins of it, they just want to know they are not messing you around and can turn up within the two hour slot but you would not book someone in around that and shove them in the wardrobe when the booked client turns up.

Like every industry there is no pattern and each day is as unpredicatble as the next. Half hour bookings are offered because of demand by the client not for the lady to make more money.

I agree completely good post.

Its not only about profit. There are girls who prefer half hours because they don't want to get involved with the client chatting etc, other girls find that too much of a conveyor belt. In any other business I suppose you would go for max profit, this is a little different.

Similarly I work in IT, and if anything customers in that sector are worse than anyone here for complaining about prices and questioning how long it takes to do a job and thus how much it costs.

One thing not discueed much is taper. if you charge £120 for an hour how much do you charge for the half hour. £60? £70?

and is 2 hrs £240 or do you give a discount, and charge say £230?

I would have thought a big taper would have been popular, so when you double the time the money is not quite doubled to take account of the fact that there is only 1 lot of getting ready, 1 lot of marketing costs etc.

lastly, no-one seems to talk about 45 minutes. a bit longer than the half hour but less than the hour.

again, each lady or parlour will consider this and price according to their needs.

taper is quite common in business. try comparing short term insurance against full years.

It seems more and more threads are getting up the noses of wg's. As I see it, a relative handful of punters do a decent job of trying to start threads, so why shoot them down?

After all, if anyone bothered to look in the archives its highly possible there isn't one truly new thread per week, in which case the forum could close down, alternatively some bright soul could simply refer the Op to the relevant ancient posts relating to his 'useless' would-be thread while everyone else waits patiently for a thread of originality.

Yet again, some of those moaning might start some genuinely original threads themselves ..... !

Can I just remind you ladies what this forum is about.

It is to discuss ALL aspects of the UK prostitution industry, that includes rates and quality of services provided.

ok

i offered a girl who works at a parlour £300 for an afternoons fun

currently she works for £70 for an hour from 11 to 7 so if everyone turn up she earns £560(with no breaks) but admits to averaging £300 in the 8 hours she is there.

which is better???

That's fine and I accept that however this thread is about how WG run their businesses to maximise profits.

If it was on rates and standard of service then fine.

I'm not moaning it's just that for some reason in this sector guys seem to think they know what's best for the service providers. Most of us learn through experience, do our own research take on board the odd comment if things can be improved but generally know our market very well.

strangely Im with the ladies on this, some geezer I qouted 1200 to change a boiler rang me up an hour later wanting to know how I justified my price when said boiler was only 650 to buy, my response was that was the going rate and to try and get someone cheaper if he wants.

Some girls are happy to get "feedback" from punters.

I remember earlier in the year one of my regular girls told me that she was going to increase her rates --------- I warned her that her phone could suddenly go silent, she ignored my advice and raised her rates.

Within a week her rates went back to normal. :D;)

As a boiler can be replaced in a day I suppose he regarded £550 labour as excessive. Personally I would have phoned around for various quotes. :D

I wonder how much Peter the Pole would have quoted. :o:D

That could very well be the case. Therefore could I suggest all punting persons taking the longer option leave a tip for their favourite escort in order to prevent such a loss in earnings ? :D

So what's that got to do with half hour appointments being more profitable?

Yes Jimmy I do take feedback on board and indeed did once adjust my rates as the result of someone making a sensible suggestion that I just didn't have the confidence to carry forward - and the result was good.

However other feedback such as "If I were you I'd be squeezing as many bookings as I could into the day, every day to make as much money as I could in as short a time" has been ignored. The person who told me that was very happy to overstay. Now that would be something that wouldn't be happening if I were working to his plan!
