Punting without a mobile phone......

29 posts in this topic

Fellow Punters I have had a whole week without a phone & have had to exist on pen & paper e.g. listing WG, dates, phone no, services, price, location, etc

I now have a long list of babes for this week to work through as I have plans A, B & C for each day!*?

And it is all written in a form of code so that should I lose that piece of paper too I am not compromising myself or anyone else lol!!!

For those more experienced Punters amongst us was this what life was like pre-mobile & I suppose to a lesser degree pre-SatNav [i never use SatNav anyhow] :-)

Some girls wont accept calls from non mobiles so life will have been hard I imagine.

Most girls like you to call when outside so unless there is a payphone outside you wont get in. You shouldn't have a problem with parlours though.

I am impressed by the stamina your post implies !

Personally I have a PAYG punting phone for WG's phone numbers. I have an anonymous email account via Google which I use to keep a record of all the other details such as location, charges etc for people/places I don't go to regularly.

I also started keeping a record of punts a couple of years back, in the same place.

I don't send any emails from this account and it has a unique password.

I would agree with Kinky and LOTM - a phone seems an essential part of life if visiting indies.

I punted in the days when mobile phones and sat-navs had not even been thought about -------- what you never had you never missed.

You have not mentioned something far more relevant and that is the internet which has completely transformed the prostitution industry.:D

My own progression was via the street trade in Mayfair (I lived in London then), through cards in phoneboxes, adverts in local papers (for none of which you needed a mobile phone, even if they had existed), and then finally to the internet - and even that has become much more sophisticated in the last few years.

I can now almost always get the punt I want, when I want. And I sometimes book a week in advance, if I can see there's going to be a window of opportunity.:o

But I'd be lost without the mobile phone

oh aye piss soaked phone boxes on a friday afternoon as you desperately rang loads of numbers hoping to get a response, finally getting through and asking for details and knowing that 90% of what was being said was bollocks, turning up at some random address and hoping lke hell she would be at least halfway decent looking and not some drug addled lunatic.

:D

Sounds familiar. I rarely needed to pay to use the payphone though, a lollystick did the job of the coin. Of course some phone boxes had been vandilised so finding one working was sometimes a struggle.

I had a mixture of anticipation and fear when approaching the ladies place, but in the main i was lucky and met some lovely ladies, with exceptions. I also punted with some ladies that had incredibly thick bushes, that went up to their navel area on ocassion, who knew then that shaved was going to become the norm.:o

I only got myself a mobile about two years ago. I can only remember being turned down once in the years beforehand - by an agency.

As onew who was in diapers in the pre cell phone (not to mention pre Internet) era, I have to ask...

...and it was still worth it?

I'm so glad I'm a punter in this century. I get discouraged by a bouncing email, fer cryin out loud. We young whippersnappers don't know how good we have it, eh? :P

They are the ladies who would not get my business ------- I pay, therefore I am the boss. :P:rolleyes:

More humbly just finished my virgin land line punt with Lucy's of Luton this evening. No doubt BT will soon be asking why is the 'Old Lady living in the shoe' all of a sudden calling all these mobile phone nos & brothels lol!!!

i have to agree with that comment i started with newspapers adverts and then about 6 years ago got a website and never went back to old add of the paper i find it difficult to believe that girls will still advertise in newspapers

I always think that if you want to know what the next big BOOM will be out there in the internet/techie business will be then just follow the adult /porn industry as they always seem to be ahead for anything technical/internet related

Hopefully none of the ladies on her know what I am talking about. :P

(for any youngsters on here, there used to be 240 pennies to the £)

Grandad was reminiscing about the good old days...

"When I were a lad, me mother would send me down to t'corner shop wi' a shilling, and I'd come back wi' five pounds o' potatoes, two loaves o' bread, three pints o' milk, a pound o' cheese, a packet o' tea, an' 'alf a dozen eggs.

Yer can't do that now. Too many bloody security cameras."
