A Video On Sex Buyer In Sweden Being Arrested

The Prostitution Unit of the Stockholm Police in Sweden arrests a man for the buying of sex according to the so-called sex purchase law in Sweden which criminalizes the buying of sex but not the selling. Clip was originally broadcasted in the Swedish TV-show called "Crime of the Week" in 2014.

http://www.punternet.com/forum/index.php/topic/35267-a-swedish-cop-talks-about-enforcing-the-swedish-model/

It confirms what was discussed in a similar thread I made in recent months (link above)- Swedish police get their evidence by lurking around outside an apartment (both outside the apartment door and outside the building) and listening in to see what they can hear and looking for men using a mobile phone before entering.

In this case a WG is brought to the cops' attention by a client because of her poor spoken English yet her profile is written in perfect Engish and claims she is available 24/7 (suggesting she isn't the one who wrote it).

This client is caught out because the police ask him her name when he leaves and the name he gave them was her working name (obviously not her real name). He admitted to it and was given a fine. Good job she was working alone or she would have been arrested too (yes that's right, just like in the UK it is illegal to sell sex in Sweden in a brothel).

When asked the name of the person he'd visited he should have just said cheekily 'Now that would be telling'. Going onto admit the offence is fatal.

He's a wuss.

Fair enough, he may have family and want to take the easy way out which is to admit and pay the fine, but the law won't change in Sweden until punters man up, deny the deed and go to trial, and then the whole charade of criminalising consenting private matters causes embarrassment to the establishment there.

It's been like this for 15 years in Sweden iirc. Men there are beginning to deserve the laws they get.

Wouldn't happen here as the majority of adult punters visiting adult WGs in this marvellous Union Kingdom would admit nothing and stand up to the system. It's not as if we'd be chucking ourselves under horses for voting rights or standing up for legalised abortion as many women have done in the past. It's just a case of saying to the fuzz that whatever happened is none of your business as long as no-one was coerced, threatened or under-age, and take me to court if you've got a problem with that.

So she is probably being pimped, but they arrest one of the clients and leave her in the same situation? Is that correct?

and according to their laws she is a 'victim', so they let the crime carry on arresting after the crime?

I guess most think it's much easier and more convenient to pay a fine than go to court (and as the report below claims, only low fines have been handed out). But when a client has gone to court it's proven to be an embarrassment for the Swedish model- noone has been sent to prison, only two have been convicted (after pleading guilty) and the WG almost always refuses to see herself as a victim and refuses to testify against the client (see page 38 of HIV + the Law Commission report below).

I agree there is likely someone else is involved, and if they are pressuring her to be available 24/7 then that's coercion. But what I saw from the video they didn't seem to express any interest in helping her it was all about "let's wait here all night and try and catch another punter to give a fine to".

I hope the WG in the video receives the help she needs and isn't harrassed by the cops and social services with threats of deportation/losing her children if any/facing eviction like other WGs in Sweden have.

Looks like they are hoping her pimp will come along at some point so they can arrest him. If she was stopped they would lose the chance to bag the pimp

There's certainly some prima facie evidence as has been mentioned that she is a victim of trafficking! The Swedish so called police, wouldn't give a shit about that as this law guarantees that trafficking, nasty pimping and psychotic clients will flourish! The Swedish police are also pre-programmed by Swedish society into believing that female sex workers are all essentially mentally ill!

It has been suggested that the punters mistake was his admission, but the punter will know he will be arrested in any case (also have his DNA taken and compared to all DNA on outstanding rapes, child molestation and murders by the sex police!), he will also be aware that his non admission of guilt will encourage the Police to put pressure on the lady e.g. confiscation of earnings oh and yes, threats to put her children into care (after all she is perceived by these nut jobs to be the one who is mentally ill!).

Also, the notion that if such a law is drafted here, being silent will save a British punter! No it won't! Mind you, to use mobile phone evidence, it would require authorisation from the Home Secretary (In Sweden, it's much easier!), but don't forget that the Home secretary will be Mad Hattie Harman, who is sufficiently mad to sign those authorisations without a bother!

I think there is a massive amount of denial going on in this country regarding girls in this situation. Ive head guys complaining more times than I have had hot dinners that they felt cheated because they booked in with a girl with good english but when they arrived the girl had virtually no or very poor english. For the girls here the guys just put it down to "must have been a maid" or "rip off" and moan and complain about how they felt ripped off then do a shitty review for her somewhere. They say she was hot and fit and the "advertised age" of whatever young age she is and she'll be okay when her english gets better but no communication so it ruined the punt for them so they feel as if they were ripped off big style. Never do I see the word trafficked or pimped under duress being mentioned or any concern for the girl. How many guys are there who are recognising this as the sort of girl that they usually visit but here i the uk instead they assume she is here working here freely.

This girls sounds exactly like lots of girls i hear mentioned on the forums every week

I'm not trying to imply that being silent when arrested will save you the individual punter on that particular day. What I'm saying is that if you've done the deed with a non-coerced non-threatended adult WG, then you should tell the police your name ( and whatever other minimum information is needed ) and that whatever happened back in the room is none of their business. Have a joke with them too if you like. Give them a wink, and call them naughty prying boys. Just don't confess.

If you want a society where the law permits both sides to engage in consensual paid sexy time, which is the majority experience, then man up and go to court and let a prosecutor try and prove an offence. You may not be saved but long term you'll be bringing attention to bad laws and saving others hopefully. The good of the many outweighs the good of the one, as the world's most famous half-human once said.

Which system is better for the welfare of the smaller % of threatened WGs with identification taken off them for example, which would be one sign of coercion? This swedish system where the cops walk away having established sfa isn't.

One really shouldn't be surprised at anything the Swedes do. They allowed forced sterilisation. Before world War II they suggested to the Germans that the passports of Jews should be marked with a 'J'.

Sweden had forced sterilisation for disabled and transgender people until as recent as 2012, and their feminist political party (the one that wants to introduce a "man tax") is rising in popularity and won a seat at the EU Parliament.

Agree. If such a law was introduced here an idea might be for the client and escort to come up with a story at the start of their meeting together which they would stick to and tell the cops if needed- so you have an answer to "what were you doing in there" if approached by a cop (and so if they question the escort she will also give the same story). Also have music playing so cops standing outside listening won't be able to hear any sexual noises. And of course don't mention anything about having sex when you make the booking or while using the phone. Then let them take you to court, and it will be yet another failure for them and will add even more weight to the argument the IKEA model is a waste of resources and not practical to enforce.

The evidence used by the Swedish police to catch out a client is very "iffy" and they are relying heavily on clients to confess or to make up poorly thought-out excuses on the spot and then be easily caught out (like what happened to the guy in the video).

Their system feels like less and less of a deterrent the more I learn about it.

The Swedish police have applied enormous unbearable pressure on female sex workers to give evidence against clients including threats to put their children into care! They, as is obvious from the video, could not give a shit about protecting a vulnerable woman, fine collection outweighs investigating trafficking/nasty pimping!

Chloe, that is some selective and absurd editing  that you have done on my post!

This video highlights that the Swedish model of client criminalisation is a failed model only serving in the main to abuse sex workers, which is part of the reasoning behind it! Imagine, police waiting outside an apartment of a suspected coerced sex worker and doing nothing to save her from being potentially raped by (according to their figures 15 -  20 clients!) but hanging outside for easy fines from those punters! The police in UK/Ireland would never do such a thing!

My view on Harman, your next Home Secretary./ Deputy PM is that she is a bit unusual, in so far as she is a confirmed frothing at the mouth man hating radical feminist, but in her case it's not accompanied by being an obnoxious bull dyke as well, oh she is throughly obnoxious though! Harman is a fake Socialist to the core of her being and could not give a 3 cornered shite about protecting sex workers, but she wants male clients to suffer!

No punter will die as a consequence of Swedish model type laws directly (though it could be conceivably a contributory factor in suicides!), it will make life hell on earth for sex workers, it will increase attacks, it will reduce business from ordinary decent punters, it will conceivably lead to sex workers being killed, that has happened in Sweden!

Re trafficking, the gobshites in Ireland proposing this law are constantly producing unsubstantiated facts from their holes re trafficking figures. Trafficking may in very isolated cases exist and needs to be clamped down on extremely severely, but it's used as a smokescreen to destroy sex workers' lives by lunatics intent as much as any trafficker in doing just that!

One of the coppers in the video has written a book, soon to become a feminist favourite.

The True Story of a Swedish Detective
Inspector Fighting Prostitution

Detective inspector Simon Häggström is head of the Stockholm Police Prositution Unit. Everyday, he meets those who inhabit the shadowy underbelly of Stockholm the prostituted women, and men, who try to keep their business hidden and the punters who at all cost want to avoid being caught. Even though Sweden has a strict anti-prostitution law, business is thriving.

Shadows Law tells the true stories of the people Simon Häggström and his co-workers encounter every day; young girls facing dangers they did not foresee, seven foreign women working and living together in a one bedroom apartement, Lovisa, born into a life of drugs and prostitution, and of course, the men who buy sex. These are their stories as they have never been told before. The book also includes shocking photographic material from the authors own archive.

And ironically if you read his book, you will find it filled with evidence that the Swedish model simply doesn't work. As an article at https://feministire.com/2016/05/29/so-you-dont-want-to-take-amnestys-word-for-it-okay/ concludes:

So let’s recap. According to one of the law’s chief enforcers, it hasn’t changed men’s attitudes. It isn’t deterring them from paying for sex. It isn’t stopping women from selling sex (indeed, they have to engage in a sexual act before enforcement will take place at all). It is subjecting them to unwanted interactions with the police, up to and including detention, and deportation for those who refuse to accept the cops’ “help”. That … sounds an awful lot like what Amnesty found next door in Norway, doesn’t it?

But as the article also mentions (and illustrates with graphic and explicit extracts from the book), what enforcing the Swedish law does achieve is

it provides the cops with “excitement” and plenty of wank material, in which they themselves play a starring role in the action. Ironic, when you consider that Amnesty are the ones being accused of privileging men’s sexual desires...... But even Amnesty might be surprised at the clumsy, cringeworthy porn that Haggstrom illustrates his accounts with – more surprised than Swedish sex workers seem to be, which is possibly telling in itself. Is it any wonder he’s such an advocate for the law?  Without it, he’d have to get off with only his imagination again.

The Swedish Polis don't give any regard atall to the ECHR (one of the pet hates of Brexiteers, most of whom are too ignorant to know that the Convention has zilch to do with the EU) and the right to have legal advice!
