Cairo

8 posts in this topic

Hi people,

I'm going to Cairo for a couple of months in January. Any advice on the punting scene there. I've heard that Egypt was a great place to visit before the Revolution, but as an Islamic country I'm a bit wary... If anyone has any advice or recommendations I'd really appreciate it.

Cheers!

First of all Egypt is not an Islamic country but a secular country. You'll see mosques, Bhuddist temples and Coptic Christian churches all in close proximity in Cairo. If as I presume you're going to be staying in one of the hotels in Heliopolis, the westernised northern suburbs of Cairo then you will be likely to encounter someone offering 'companionship'......

There is also a Movenpick hotel out near the airport which has a casino and a night club where you are more likely to strike lucky in more ways than one.

Take Immodium capsules, dont use any ice cubes in anything, only drink bottled water with sealed caps, sticking to familiar brands, and most important....avoid the buffets in hotel restaurants at all costs. Food sits under the lamps all day with just an occasional stir!

Do visit the Cairo museum and pay the extra to see the mummy room. The images will remain in your memory for ever!

Been posted here for over 1 year now, its a great country with some of the friendliest people I've come across. I actualy like it so much I'm not going to UK for the Holidays.

However it is a bit of a Punting desert (pun intended) for foreigners, and I go every other weekend to Dubai to indulge.

A couple of places I can recommend, are the Marriott Hotel in Zamalek, go to Harry's pub, and another place when I first arrived was Cairo Sheraton, bar on the first floor.

Also if you have balls and don't mind going where you will be the only foreigner and nobody speaks English, then there are some local bars and cabarets on the Nile, in Aguza area. Went there once and the girls were grabbing and kissing like I was in bloody Thailand or something, and the quality was actually quite good (I do like'm tarty though)

Masseuse in the Ramses Hilton health club, a stone throw's from the museum and right next door to a huge shopping mall, gave HR when I was last there about 3 years ago for a 200 egyptian pound tip. Not a great experience but good enough in the arid circumstances.

I can vouch for the Ramses Hilton health club. I was in Cairo last year and went to this place. There was a small queue of men but they put me to front because I was a foreigner or tourist. I got a russian lady in her 30's who gave me a strong massge followed by HR.

The marriott also mentioned above has WG's in the Casino and Harry's Pub. They were mainly African in the Pub and Syrian and Chinese in the Casino.

I was only there for 1 day as a stop over so did not have time to go exploring. 5 star hotels or Casino's tend to attract WG's in most countries.

I've been visiting Cairo regularly for a number of years and have to agree punting isn't easily available.

I used to stay at the Marriott in Zamalek mentioned above and the girls here (mostly African - Chad, Somalia, etc) would sit in the outdoor bar/restaurant area making lots of eye contact with unaccompanied men but would only speak to you if you spoke first. It seemed to be part of an arrangement with the management that they would be tolerated so long as they didn't upset the guests. One girl quoted me $200 and I just laughed and she got offended so the negotiations faltered there! Also here I've seen fully covered, head to toe, women from the Gulf moving from table to table speaking to men - I was told they tend to select Arabs only and I was never approached. A friend made the comment "I've always wanted a blow job from a woman I couldn't see - assuming it is a woman...."

More recently I've stayed in the Sofitel in Maadi, on the Nile Corniche. This is a very dull hotel but they do have African girls of variable looks in the bar most nights. Fairly close by (coming out of the front door of the Sofitel turn left for about 200 yards) there are TGI Fridays and Fusion restaurants which share an outside area and I've been approached here by African girls.

One place I've never been but have been told about is Pyramids Road, which used to be the area for nightclubs with belly dancers etc. Still continues it seems but rather shabby these days, although apparently a reliable venue for finding a girl.

There is the old wartime story of the soldier who had recently joined a battlion the middle of nowhere in Egypt. A while later, he asked his new mates what they did for sex in such a forlorn place. 'We use the camels' was the bkunt reply. When sufficiently desparate, the new man crept out to where the camels were tehered, Half an hour later, he returned, bleeding, bruised, battered and with his uniform in tatters. 'What on earth's happened to you' quizzed his colleagurs. He explained that his desparation had got the better of him and he had taken their advice about the camels. 'No, you silly sod', he was told, 'we use the camels to ride into Cairo'.

They, obviously, had brothels there then !
