As a rule, will you go out of your way to see a lady you're interested in, or do you prefer stick to convenient locations with good connections?

Does it make a difference if she's a favourite who's moved house, or if she really lights your fire?

Back in the day, I regularly drove from London to Birmingham to meet a favourite lady. I did it about once a month for 3 years or so.

Nowadays, I am prepared to travel even further, but generally tie the trip in with a visit to family etc so it doesn't quite count in the same way.

I will certainly travel for the right lady once I have met her but for a first punt I prefer to keep the mileage down. It takes up a lot of time and fuel for a punt that may be underwhelming once I get there.

Definitely go out of my way for my favourite lady. I kept trying to find somebody more conveniently situated but after very many punts over the years, none of them were anything like as good so I have accepted that I must travel.

In the old days, yes - though the most I ever went out of my way was a one-day Bristol to Exeter round trip (also did Swansea Bath and back in a day once or twice).

Now, no. Almost all of my punting is in London, I'm centrally based and I really don't move out of Central London at all. The one exception I make is for a tantric masseuse in Teddington, but that doesn't even involve orgasm and hardly counts on this board.

Getting old, getting old.

I did travel 100 miles twice to see the same wg, and on the second occasion she let me down as she'd got her dates mixed up. She did apologise profusely and offer me a discount off our next meet but I decided against travelling that far again. Nowadays 30 - 40 miles is the limit.

Although I have been dared to travel to meet someone approximately 6000 miles away but it ain't going to happen. Unfortunately :)

Yes for a known favourite but not to try a new lady

I have had three men, two who are now regulars who travel 85 miles. Discounting business men who are in the area for business.

I used to have days out by Nat Express coach to Manchester from the Midlands which I grew to like very much as a city and i had perhaps three punts there during the day. The 100 or so parlours without police interference gave some heady opportunities but the police attitude seemed to change and the glamour and breadth of parlours lessened.

I will happily sort out quite complicated travel arrangements (I try to avoid driving much now so it involves trains and/or buses) to see a regular, especially a favourite who moved around a lot.

But for nearer places I will quite easily be put off by awkwardness in getting to the location. So it's a bit lopsided, rather like me.

A  good location to where I live is preferable.  Although there are some great ladies further afield its the time factor that is the killer for me.  If you are a travelling business man then I expect its good but I am office based and usually see people within a 30 mile radius.  There are ladies on AW that I am tempted to see but up to 180- 200 mile round trip and if it doesn't work out as a good punt I will feel that a day may be wasted?

Does it make a difference if she's a favourite who's moved house, or if she really lights your fire?

In my early days, a bit like Messrs Paul and Bloom, I used to regularly drive 70 miles to see a particular lady and must have made that journey two dozen times, but after she retired in 2004 I took to keeping virtually all my punts closer to home. I won't now generally instigate one that involved significant travelling.

However, my present favourite lady gave me the very dilemma you describe about a year ago. For 5 years I’d been visiting her about once a month just 6 miles away when she decided to up sticks and move a 90 minute drive away. She wondered whether I’d continue to see her, but I do because we have such a good rapport between us.

Do you really offer discounts to businessmen? I shall have to dig out my suit and get back to trying to earn a living again!! :D

It varies. I prefer to see escorts with whom I feel some rapport. A number live around the country so if I have an excuse to travel I'll base the trips around the chances of meeting up again. (This could be combined with social events run by a Board.) This has taken me from the south coast to Edinburgh (as an extreme example).

Others live more locally, and I'm at the stage of preferring to wait to see them when the opportunity arises rather than just picking on an unknown person 'available today'.

Mind you, of the latter I don't even consider most, for a variety of reasons including age, a whiff of 'organisation', bb ....

In the UK I have punted as far south as Bristol and Southampton and as far north as Aberdeen! I doubt I shall extend these limits in the near future.

Without a doubt I travel to see my favourite lady - Manchester to London - once or twice a month - often in London on business so that doesn't count I guess - but when not in London 'ain't no mountain higher....' feel a song coming on :)

Quality always over quantity and well worth the travel - anticipation on drive down - smile on face on way back -- simple as that.

In the past I have traveled to Newcastle, Darlington, Manchester and Yorkshire from the Midlands and as far south as Brighton. Not sure I would travel as far these days. However, never say never is a motto of mine!

A person who is employed by an organization or company. Businessmen are often associated with white collar jobs

It is obviously one who "Does the Business"!. I guess that has not helped.

Perhaps the generally assumed meaning is "one who has a respectable decently paid job which does not involve him getting his hands dirty.

There is no real definition I think.

Interesting when the name appears to be bandied about as some sort of badge of respect.
