Std Certificate

16 posts in this topic

I guess this is directed more to agency owners but if anyone know please chime in.

Are there any agencies that insist on girls submitting a clear STD certificate on a regular basis (say monthly?) I imagine this would be a good marketing tool for clients looking for some assurance?

please don't reply with all the 'what if scenarios' and ways to cheat the system, just interested in if agencies ask for this and if so which ones, and hoe often, might be all of them for all I know but doubt that somehow.

Open floor :)

Thanks!

STD certs are not worth the paper they are written on

you dont know who has had sex with the cert holder since the tests

and some things they test for take a while after infection to appear on tests

many tests look for antibodies rather than the actual infection. and of course these antibodies take a while to appear in the blood.  I think HIV takes a significant time before it shows on tests.  but a person would still be infectious.

This my understanding on how it works.  Please correct me if I am wrong.

but to protect yourself then seriously consider using condoms always.  Do not rely on any certificates.

I've never been given or offered a certificate by a clinic.

They also don't ask for ID.

That is aside from the issue that they are only valid at the exact time the samples were taken, and then some conditions are not detectable for the first two weeks.

They'd give a false sense of security.

The GUM clinics in my area don't even offer certificates because they feel it is irresponsible and pointless as Cov and Strawberry has pointed out.

I think possibly you can get one if you pay for it, but couldn't be sure or say how much.  Also how would you know it's for the person waving it at you especially as escorts rarely use their real names and certainly not their surnames.

I see that, inevitably, all the replies so far (my own included) have ignored the OPs plea “please don't reply with all the 'what if scenarios' and ways to cheat the system,” and come out with the usual mantra that such a certificates isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. That’s a bit like saying that a WG who claims that she has regular STI checks is no ‘better’ than one who says she never bothers with such checks. Notwithstanding my own precautions, I know, from a punter’s point of view, which one I would choose!

I believe that clinics such as the Praed Street Project do offer such certificates to those who request them, but I can only think of one WG I’ve ever known who claims to hold such a certificate, so it clearly isn’t a USP!

Coventry, stawberry and minxy. Thank you for your replies. Your combined thousands of posts show you are all well versed and I would hazard a guess rather knowledgable......contrast my three posts :)

Repeating from the original post, I'm not looking for the negatives I am fully aware of all the scenarios . My question is

"Do agencies require STD certificates for the ladies that they represent" and if so "which ones"

Would like to hear form agency owners.

I get myself tested every two months. It takes fifteen minutes and costs nothing but, if I want a written report as opposed to the texted "all clear" then I have to pay for it. I don't bother - no-one would be interested!

I accept that punting is a dangerous game and, if I do catch something, I want to know about it early!

I once asked my favoured agency (at the time) if their girls were tested regularly and the response was not reassuring!

Thank you.

USP, it seems not.

Would be nice to have some agencies reply, but I guess the silence is telling.

This is what I am trying to understand. My viewpoint is there is always a way to make things better, improve if you will.

I'm a little lost at how easily dismissed making things more safe for all parties is an avenue not worth exploring, imagine the upside for the entrepreneurial minded.

How do the sex clubs in Germany and the porn industry in US operate are they as blaze? I guess legalization one way to solve all problems.

Luke. I appreciate what you are saying and I am sure if a parlour were to say all its girls get tested once per month that would reassure.

But girls and punters should assume the other person may have an STI and behave accordingly.

Bucause if you dont you are putting yourself at risk.

I use my real full name(and remainder of details) so I am not in the homogenous category you describe ^_^

I dont. I know staff at my GP as friends so I would not want my GUM visits on my GP records.

My knowledge has very little to do with the number of posts I have made. It is based upon real life experience, listening in biology lessons, reading factual leaflets, NHS websites and asking direct questions at the GUM clinic. Forum posters can have numerous posts under their belts and still not be well versed in these matters.

The GUM only communicate with GPs if you give them permission.

Or at least that is how the GUM clinics I have visited work - you have to tick a box on the form they give before they can pass records on.

Bad example to use.The US porn industry does have regular testing with certificates being produced before working and even with that it's nearly been brought to it's knees twice in the last few years because of aids.Last time the big studios were shut down for months.
