What Would You Have Done?

43 posts in this topic

I found a great profile on the purple site. Well written, provided what I wanted - sounded just the sort of meeting I would really like, and possibly even more than I was looking for  (For several reasons, I won't share who the provider actually is)  The contact was via AW messaging, and the claim was if it was specific (asking for a booking with a time etc.), then phone number would be provided.

I didn't have a specific time for the booking, but wanted to get make sure I was an acceptable client.  (She was very young - and I am not!).  Message was read, but no response.  Went back with better ideas of timings (I couldn't be fully specific for work reasons). That illicited a response, phone number was provided, and during exchanges a postcode.  We switched to text exchanges to get to a time.  I was then told the details would be sent on AW for how a first time visit would go.   And I quote

"Ok just to refresh my Postcode is XXX XXXX. I'll run you through how I do things on first time meets just so you know what to expect when you arrive. I have a guy friend who is kind of my minder, I give him the details of my meets etc. He lives round the corner from me so don't worry, he won't be there in the house or anything, he is just there to look out for me as I'm sure you can understand.

If you drop me a text when you're 5 mins away he will be waiting for you at the corner of ABC Road and XYZ Road (or you can give me a text when you arrive there, it will only take him a couple mins to get there :) ). I'll text you a reply telling you what he's wearing etc so you can spot him, although the road is usually quiet. After paying him he will give you a little red bag with your name on it, inside will be a card on which is my full address and house number. My place is very easy to find, the number is easy to spot from the road. Also, being as it is a house, not an apartment, there are no neighbors to annoy ;) From there on it's all up to you."

Oh...and just for further information - this is in a town a long way from London or other big cities - the postcode and meeting point was a very nice road towards the edge of town in a respectable area, that is populated by largish (e.g. 4 bedroom) detached houses.

And apologies if I am slow coming back, I have not contributed to the forum much in recent times (although have been a punternet member for nearly as long as punternet has existed), so I will be moderated........and I also only have limited time to access the site.

I will share what I did - but wanted to know other opinions first.

...pay him and he gives you a little red bag with her full address...!!!

Are you off your rocker ???

Has SCAM written all over it...you'll be left standing on the corner with no address AND no money.

Bear in mind this is just my opinion but I'll be interested to hear what others think.

...and don't let the story of having to pop out to pay the taxi driver fool you either.

just an evolution of the SoHo scams,  when the loss of blood to the brain rushing to a punters dick means cash for scammers.

and when you go to the cops and they arrest the geezer and he says you have paid for a bag with a card in it, cops will laugh and let him go because you got what you paid for!

This has scam all over it, and it's been done in Birmingham before.

You really should be letting people know who this girl was to save them being duped into this aswell, you'll be surprised how many fall for scams so easily.

I bet the profile was too good to be true right?! I hope you didn't go through with it! Think with the brain first and let the dick do the thinking when you get to the booking! lol x

Bearing in mind that there are fantastic experiences to be had with ladies with far simpler but more sensible security arrangements, why would you even entertain the thought of a meeting which was so fraught with risks and the potential to be taken for an idiot?

The op says he will let us know what he did... after reading some responses?

I have my doubts about his post to be honest......  but that is just me.

Faced with a scenario like that though.... if I was a bloke..... I would not go within a mile of the place/meeting.

Only a stupid fool would.

Absolutely.

Seek your fun elsewhere op. The very mention of meeting her 'minder' beforehand irrespective of handing him the cash, would have me more prepared for a fight than a punt which isn't exactly the best start...Avoid like the plague.

I don't know why he would want to keep who the girl is a secret, it's blatant she's scamming people and people should know.

I wonder if people still fall for this rubbish.Obviously they must do or he wouldnt be running it otherwise. As for people talking about old bill. How would they find him.You would have essentially given a random stranger cash.Thats the beauty of it.

Unfortunatley they often do. Especially if they have never experienced a scam before, they dont always know the signs or are of a trusting nature. I met a guy the other day who told me he was scammed or almost scammed last month and he has a friend who is in this punting hobby who it has happened to twice. He told me it was so  nice to meet a real person doing what they offer, I felt awful for him as he was such a nice guy. Its really not fair especially when people work so hard for their money.

I have personally noticed an increase in the guys who mention having been scammed in some way, at one point it was rare to see a guy post of being scammed or be told about it in the bedroom but the increase is happening and its worrying to say the least.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all your contributions- it is unanimous then that this must be a scam.  And indeed, that was my assumption.  Assuming we are all correct, then this was a great set-up.  This was not a run of the mill too good to be true offer, the price was on a par with other local escorts, but with an approach that was encouraging a long stay (so lots of money !!)  When I questioned the texter, they maintained a friendly and professional persona, stating they had been robbed twice previously before they instituted this process. They didn't get riled or threaten me, and just maintained their stance when I stated that it could be a scam.  One final additional evidence. My first response to the "directions" was to call the number.  No response (and no voicemail); no call back.  But the responses to the texts were within a few minutes.  So I strongly suspect there may have been no lady here at all, just a guy selling little red bags for loads of money (as per Markdee's suggestion)

I have been scammed previously - reported it here - an excellently executed taxi fare scam.  (The lady left her coat when she went to "pay the taxi", so was 20 seconds before it dawned......too late.) I gave all the details and named names then.

Unfortunately there are some very good reasons why I can't name names here, and can't even share the reasons (sorry Lynn).....but anyone who has read this string will (hopefully!) see it as a scam when the message (or similar) comes.  So my message may have helped save a fellow punter from losing his money (or worse).

Having said all that, I do think that ladies (especially independent ones) must be at risk for thieves and worse posing as punters.  I met one delightful ladies who only uses hotel incalls simply to have people around (including hotel security) in case of issues.  Its a bit of a sad world we live in - I am glad that most are genuine, nice people - so it was nice to hear from some of the good guys and girls.

When she read your message and didn't respond you should've 'stopped' it there and moved on to a 'reliable' girl.

Suppose this trade makes for an easier mark.Already nervous, plus many not knowing the legal status of what theyre doing,so even those inclined to report may not thinking theyd get nicked as well. That said though,if you went buy or pay for anything else and the person asked you to not pay in the shop but go round the back and hand them the cash and theyd drop the items to you later i wonder how many would.

I can see why its on the increase though. As crimes go,with no one being physically hurt even if reported, its not exactly going to be a police priority.

Imagine if the bag actually does contain an address to allow matey to get away cleanly. Some poor sods getting a lot of nervous sorts on their doorstep.

The "girl" probably doesn't even exist. OP have not mentioned that he talked to her on the phone, only exchanged messages. Just some guy, created profile with a stolen pictures of a very young girl. Replying, collecting money and performing scam all on his own. That way the money does not even need to be shared.

Ah yes, that could be true!

Even so, he shouldn't be keeping the profle a secret as people could still be falling for this scam as we speak. And in my honest opinion when someone is so reluctant to out a scammer/thief etc, their story usually isn't true...

Agreed. I never could understand it either. What is the point of such post, if he is not prepared to disclose the profile of the obvious scammer.

You can understand then Why Lynn, you and many others think that his post was not genuine.

Still: OP posts are moderation now, so if it is genuine, he might post the number of the profile, or claim that it was already deleted by Adultwork. (which could be true). We will see.

I do understand (in a way) why some people reluctant to give number of this profiles on the public forums. Once they do (which does not happened often), then they will be questioned, why did they fell for such an obvious fake, ie: at the end such members will be considered "naive" at the best... or an idiots on other end of scale. They don't want that, which is understandable.
