A Question About Age And Searching..........

83 posts in this topic

Straight to the point here.... because I got quite a surprise ......

I have learned today ...... because of a member requesting info on a certain well established and well regarded wg.... that the lady admits to being 48 yet states in her aw profile she is 33..... her reasoning is that she does not want to be missed in potential clients' searches.  I guess a lot of men give an age range when searching but I know not all do this.

She is not the only wg to use this method of advertising.

I can see the point of it  to a certain degree but would certainly not do it myself.  I prefer those men who specifically search for mature.... to find exactly that.  Stating we are always complimented on how much younger than our age we look etc makes no difference to me....... I would not use this to advertise myself as 15/20 years younger. To me that would be tempting fate and possibly setting ourselves up for a fall of some kind.............

Guys who just browse area/size/services/photos etc etc may chance upon a profile and like it...... with the age thing immaterial and that is good for him if he feels he has made a good choice.

As we ladies know too well though  .... so many men browse aw...... find a couple of photos they like and an age at the bottom of the page.... then get straight on the phone to arrange a meeting.  They may quite rightly get a big surprise when seeing the lady is 15 or 20 years older than her stated age.... simply because they have not bothered to ready her profile fully and discover that her real age is nowhere near what it says on the tin.  This could be irrelevant if he loves what he sees but it could equally turn out to be a disappointment for obvious reasons.

Am more voicing my thoughts here...... but would welcome opinions from anyone.

I totally agree about not 'massaging' my age - I want clients who want to see a mature woman, and not give them a nasty surprise! I'm 47 and say so on my profile.

Hi Lynn

Can only speak for myself, but I tend to research as much as I can before I contact an escort, so review sites like this are absolute gold.  As a punter, if I'm going to part with money, I have to be as sure as I can that a punt is going to pay-off before I knock on the door.  I tend to be quite easily put-off if there is a negative review for a girl or one that questions the accuracy of things like age, looks etc, because of that need to be as sure as possible that I'm not going to be wasting my money.

With that in mind, I'd say why risk it really?

I agree 100%. It's false advertising really. We know already that a lot of girls lie about their age on their profiles so a lot of men assume we all do it.

I certainly don't lie about my age/size/services, I don't see the point.

These women say they don't want to be lost out of searches but those men putting in specific requirements are looking for something specific.

For example a man looking for a 25 year old wants that, not a 35 year old who put herself 10 years younger to appear in searches.

I think it's a ridiculous idea. To be honest I don't understand why AW don't match the ages with profile ages when a girl verifies it would make things a lot more honest! X

Women have lied about their age in all walks of life since the dawn of time (dont bite my head off, i'm just generalising!).

The majority of men prefer to punt women younger than their wives so to shave a few years off keeps the wg more appealing to a wider market.

It doesnt work for me personally as i prefer older girls for both looks and personality. I'm pushing 40 and have no interest in girls in their early 20's.

I can see problems arising if a girl pushes her luck too far with her age and a punter arrives expecting someone much younger. There are some arsehole blokes out there who could react badly.

My thoughts are just to be truthful about minor things like age, you will get a client that actually wants to spend time with you and hopefully make the booking much nicer for both.

It doesn't require an arsehole for it to cause problems for the girl - if the guy arrives expecting someone far younger and decides to walk - either because he realises she is older or thinks she is too different from the pictures he's seen and thinks its a bait and switch the girl is still out her fee and may have turned down another booking as she thought she had one for that time.

I also do not massage my age, I have been told potential clients will search an age range lower to take into account misadvertising by other ladies, but there is not a lot I can do about that. I do know of ladies who say they are such and such an age, yet are a lot older. These do run the risk of disgruntled clients plus their own time wasted, and of course it can also make it harder for those of us who are genuine.

There are plenty of men who do like older women, I am still getting a range of clients. Some older clients also do not like women below a certain age, they do not feel comfortable, and other men simply like women of all ages.

Unfortunately, some guys don't have the courage to walk away, so these women will get away with it time and time again.

The woman's reasoning about not wanting to be missed out via searches sounds ridiculous. It's a scam of sorts; to entice unsuspecting gents who take the profile summary at face value. The gent is looking for a lady within a particular age group. If she doesn't fit that age group, tough luck! As a mature escort (turning 46 in Couple of months) I know there are plenty of men who prefer the older woman. So why resort to misadvertising?

My first thought was "doesn't she get enough bookings to have to resort to such advertising tactics"? If that's the case, she needs to have a rethink on her 'career' path

It's cheating in the same way as a wg offers services 'at discretion' with no intention of ever offering them.

In reality I'm never going to know if a wg has tweaked her age by a year or two but if someone was 48 and I was expecting a 33 year old I'm pretty damn sure I'd know it and she wouldn't be getting a penny of my hard earned.

I'd have thought there was a market for wg's of all ages, so don't really see the point of risking disgruntled customers and negative reviews. Surely that's more damaging to potential earnings?

It's not only the walk away on the first visit. Some men have told me that they aren't bothered if a woman's age or even photos are not her own, and have returned to ladies who are not as advertised. So I don't think it necessarily makes a dent in business, but still something I'd rather not risk and have no need to do.

Unfortunately many women have massaged their age over the years, not just WGs. Look at the celebrity women who never seemed to reach 40 or 50 or 60.

Things have changed a bit now and if a lady is still amazingly fit and good looking she is happy to reveal her real age whether she is a WG or a celeb.

Although I am more concerned about how a lady looks and dresses, and the services she provides than her age there is still a body of men who are always looking for someone younger than themselves and therefore you will always get girls claiming to be 10 or 15 years younger than they are.

I know some cracking ladies in their 50s, who younger guys could learn a lot from but they are frightened to try them.

Yes just checked, it is who I thought is is. She does however clarify her age partway down her profile. Other ladies who significantly massage their age tend not to say anything about it.

I know of one who has been saying she's 29 for 8 years now, and has used photos which were not of her. Men still booked and returned.

My main point was............ so many men browsing and searching would not bother themselves to read a full profile which contains the age truth thing!

If the true age or near as dammit was printed in large letters smack bang on the front of the profile at the top..... then it would not be missed. The man would have found the profile through his search for younger.

There is another lady who shaves off 23 years!  Purely for search purposes of course!

This is weirdly true...

So many times (in London) have i knocked on the door to bé greeted by someone that has no or little resemblence to the lady advertised only for the meeting to bé a great success...

Yes it does raise more questions than answers and is very baffling indeed...

Yes, I would agree especially with more and more using the AW app which hides away most information on the profile.

Age doesn't bother me in the slightest. I'm 47 now and have punted women older than me and girls young enough to be my daughter (and hopefully one granddaughter if they would be comfortable with that).  A working girl who clearly lied about her age does also risk getting bad reviews.  And another problem she would encounter is that if as punter I didn't believe her age from her photos. I'm not sure if I would believe anything else in her profile.

Not that I condone what she's doing but I've less sympathy for a punter booking her if she states her real age on the profile. Reading a profile is key for me in deciding if I want to see a wg as I like to at least try and gauge at least some element of her personality and if I think punting with her will work for me.

Doesn't always work, but on the whole it has.

But surely you're risking a rubbish punt and wasting your money? No way would I stay if the wg was obviously not who I booked.

You don't have to lie TYE  , you are young  , but for a lot of ladies who are over 40 it's the only way to get the punters in .  IMO

No, I don't think that's true at all.

There are plenty of girls mid 20s who lie and say they are teens or early 20s and stupidly have their verification picture up with their real DOB showing. Why do they lie then?

There is a market for every single age, if women over 40 couldn't get the punters in there wouldn't be so many with so much great feedback on Adultwork, nobody has to lie about their age.

Just look at recent reviews the different ages just goes to show how there is a market for everyone.

Very true...but life is about taking risks and we all take one the moment we step out the front door...
