Difference between a good parlour and a bad one

Say about four years ago I used to go The Club in Bristol. It was 80 quid. There are cheaper parlours nearby so I could have gone somewhere else for 60.

However I always enjoyed my time there so was happy to pay extra. The WGs were always very attractive and provided good service. I didn't go too often. Maybe 6 times a year.

Then something changed. I heard internet rumours about a management change. At some point the WGs were a lot less attractive, smiled less when doing the 'come out to see you' at the start, most times the service in the room would be poor.

I have tried other parlours - Citi Centa Sauna, The Massage Club, Ambassadors with mixed results. Still very hit and miss.

I gave up local punting for a while. I was a bit sad that a place I liked had turned bad and there didn't seem to be a better alternative.

Then one day I was coming back from the train station horny and decided to try a new parlour, The Elite Retreat, round the corner from The Club. Been there four times so far and every time has been an excellent parlour experience. Very professional approach, attractive WGs and consistently good service.

So how can one place do it and others just can't? Maybe getting attractive WGs is tough but things like good service and having a well run setup should be achievable. Maybe they pay more to the WGs... but they charge the same price as most other places.

It is very easy to start up a brothel, the hard part is getting pretty, young and reliable girls to work for you. :(:(

The specific examples that you refer to can probably be put down to Amanda.

She ran the Club for many years. I can remember seeing her in the room in the early-90's.

She left the Club to manage the Elite Retreat when that was set up. She was certainly running it the last time I went in 2008.

A lot of the best girls from the Club went with her and the Club soon went downhill from then on.

She is a very good manageress, well liked by both the girls and the punters.

When I first started punting in the Bristol parlours in the early-90's you were spoilt for choice. Loads of pretty young girls in their early-20's. The good old days...definitely.

I wonder what she actually does though because the difference is huge.

How does somebody manage a parlour to make sure the customers are consistently given a good experience? Once the door is closed it seems kind of out of the managements hands... and yet somehow some parlours are consistently better than others no matter which WG you go with.

Have to admit I'm not even that bothered about the WGs being young or stunningly beautiful. Yes it's a bonus but I'm reasonably relaxed about looks and find different types and ages attractive. Service is most important to me. Some places seem to make it happen, some just don't.

Attitude then Services followed by Looks which i also treat as a bonus are what i require.

I would have thought management attention to detail was the first one. Making sure all the stuff works so girls dont have to put up with grumpy punters cos they have had a cold shower and stuff like that.

attention to detail making the booking system work.

and attention to detail getting the marketing right so girls can come to work and make good money. I guess girls will hate sitting in a parlour kitchen all day with no punters and no brass to take home to pay the gas bill.

none of these things are easy. but some seem to manage it.

It is indeed very easy to start up a brothel the hard part is getting professional and/ or well known and /or well reported ladies who offer a host of services weather young or more mature to work for you.

A lot of parlours dont even do the basics, have a set of house rules and have punters and girls follow them, I.e. half an hour means half an hour, not 10 minutes. Punters shower pre punt, and girls shower post punt, ideally in front of punter. If you are going to give a massage, learnt how to do it right, its not that difficult. Smile , chat, but do not start howling like a porn star the second you are touched. Finally if being touched, and snogged makes you unhappy, go work in a lapdancing bar, or do phone sex or whatever. There is no shame not being cut out for any job, but its wrong to stay in a job for which you have absolutely no aptitude. When the client comes, do not leap off the bed and run for the shower, unless the time is actually up, its bad psychology. Fortunatley up here in edinburgh, we have 2 good parlours.

Showeres, showers, showers - dont you know what a shower,does to a girls hair ? even if it dosen't get wet, there is the steam / heat in the cabinet to think of, and does anyone wear shower hats ?

I'm always happy to give a nice girl a bed bath, a sponge down or assisted bidet, no need to ruin their hair.

A parlour is a business. Clearly all businesses are different and have different features, but it is still just running a business. There are people who are good at it and people who are less good. If the owners allowed a good manageress (and good wgs by the sounds of it) go, and didn't find someone as good to replace them ..... the outcome was pretty obvious. I'm not saying that running a parlour is like running Woolies, but running each badly often ends up the same way.

The experiences of the OP in Bristol as typical of all businesses.

The right management, managing the right staff, giving them the right support, situated in the right place with a sensible pricing structure should make most service based businesses work well.

What ineffective management sees as minutiae and irrelevant, effective management would also see as minutiae but they would assign someone to deal with the problem. So an appointment may cost £20 more, but if everyone is comfortable with the place, staff as well as customers, the business will be more profitable.

It then becomes a cycle that staff are happy working there and earning well, so they leave behind negative thoughts and the service they provide improves. Customers experience a better service so they in turn use that service rather than using another supplier. More business and earnings make the staff even happier and so on.
