Sports streaming

14 posts in this topic

I have asked this before and got a good reply but now that one is misbehaving for me like the ones I used to use.

Can anyone suggest a site that legally streams sports without having to sign up (I don't trust doing that) but doesn't suffer from being blocked by overlaid panels say I can't watch it?

Don't all rush at once, ;) girls

Thanks

I've posted before you about Kodi on this forum. http://www.punternet.com/forum/index.php?/topic/40291-kodi-rocks/

It might sound complicated to install it, but its mush easier then it looks.

1 First install Kodi from http://kodi.tv/download/. I assume you want it for Windows. If not: just choose your OS.

2 When its installed, you can add to it various repositories and add-ons for streaming. (Sports channels for example) However I suggest you not to do it that way. (you need to be quite familiar with this software, and know what each add ons are, and there are hundreds of them!)

3 The easiest way is install to Kodi already made Build. The most popular are Blackbox and Beast. Through this "Builds" you can easily access streams to sports, movies, documentaries, porn. etc. in the matter of two clicks.

4 I personally prefer Blackbox Build. (Beast a bit to cluttered with lots of channels which does not work).

5 To install Blackbox to Kodi, follow the steps from here.

6 In the final screen you will be asked which version you want to install. As I remember there are 3 there. All of them have sports streams, and one of them is Adult version. (no explanation needed, lol). Choose the one you want.

That is basically all to it. Restart Kodi, and it will be loaded with various Channels and most popular add-ons with an easy to navigate interface. Sports does not stream in HD quality, (you need a sub for it) but movies are. Still: SD quality is reasonably good, but of course it will depends from you internet speed.

You can stream all Sky sports, BT Sports, ESPN, FoxSports, and many others to long to mention. I found the best stream for sports is Zeus, but see around the program yourself which channel streaming the best. It will take you a while! lol

Give it a go, and if any questions, just ask. :-)

That is correct. You only need subscription if you want to stream in HD quality. (Not from Sky though, from the third party stream webby). But as I said before, SD quality stream is quite good, and nothing to complain about, considering its free! About 3 months ago you could stream in HD for free also, but they stopped it now. :-(

Does this mean that sky are going to use the courts to protect their products like they did this year with the free streaming of football?

I don't know. For now: they simply can't stop it.

I am pretty sure that streaming live Sky Sports channels through the third party is not illegal. (same with Sky movies channels, which require sub also) However I am not certain, if its legal: once you decided to record it or download the streams for a later viewing. I think that will be illegal, but maybe somebody who know can advise.

Thanks a lot, Xenia.

Oddly, someone on a local for sale site was advertising these Kodi sticks but in a version called Kodi Fire stick which was the Amazon Fire stick with Kodi added (I think) for £60.

So I was reading about it this evening before now seeing your post!

I also looked out for comments on its legality re Sky etc and a fairly sensible site explained that it wasn't.

I wonder if people think this £60 version is the way to go or know a site that explains the options.

Xenia has obviously given a great start on this..

I went for it.

Thanks, again, Xenia.

I am looking forward to my Amazon Fire Kodi stick arriving in the post and a few happy hours trying to make the thing work.

(I paid for it by limiting myself to just the two bobby dazzler ladies today instead of the usual three...)

Viv: Some people do prefer to order already chipped Amazon sticks, (ie, with Kodi and Build installed). However, if you confident to do it yourself, why pay extra £25 (as Fire Stick cost £35), which should not take more then 30 minutes.

After you done your first one, you might start to do more and flog them on ebay. LOL. Nice little earner, which works at around £40 per hour, to help you to pay for your "bobby dazzler" ladies. :-)

I would not say that is exactly straightforward to load them with Kodi, not that you need to be an IT geek either. Installing Kodi, probably the most difficult part on Fire Stick, as its not Amazon approved app, so you need to side load it. Installing the Build much more easier.

There are two ways to do it: using ABDfire App, (http://www.htpcbeginner.com/install-kodi-on-amazon-fire-tv/) and using ES Fire explore app. (http://www.htpcbeginner.com/install-kodi-on-fire-tv-without-adb-fire-computer/).

I've tried both methods. (I've done already 6 of those sticks for the Xmas prezzies). The latter method appear to be easier, but I will suggest to use the first method, even if its appear to be more complex, and you need to have another computer to do it. The reason is: once you installed Adb Fire on your computer, you can side load other apps on Fire Stick in a matter of few clicks.

After you loaded Kodi, you need to install Build, which I explained in my post above.

Also: purely for a better user experience, but not necessarily, you might as well install FireStarter app. (http://www.htpcbeginner.com/install-firestarter-on-amazon-fire-tv/) Its an alternative launcher, which let you start Kodi, with a two clicks on the home button of the FS Remote control, instead of going through loads of menus to launch it.

I hope you will manage to do it, and if any problems just post here.

Viv, can you please post a link to the website, where it was explicitly said that it was Illegal to stream Sky Sports channels through the third party?

Sorry, Xenia, I read through the posts before getting to yours and now replying and I realised that I had expressed myself very badly - apologies.

I was trying to say the site I looked at said it wasn't illegal and as you point out I managed to say the opposite. My bad English!

If I had not already ordered the firestick, I would have asked if you would make me one for a price agreeable to you - and you are also fairly close to me so I could have booked to see you and killed 2 birds with one stone - but I can only afford half-hour punts :(

Hopefully when it arrives I will be able to tell if Build and/or the Firestarter app are uploaded otherwise I may have to come begging for your technical expertise.

Although you have already given links for me to sort them out myself, the idea of mixing tech and sex rather appeals...

Thank you again and apologies again for my bad English, Xenia.

The stick has arrived but I keep getting a message saying the site can't access Amazon servers. I found a forum where that appeared to be a common problem although it seemed to be an Amazon problem rather than a stick problem.

So I have seen nothing with it so far except there was a Kodi app showing

Just wanted to acknowledge the marvellous advice given by Xenia that has led me to a successful installation of what promises to completely transform my viewing pleasure.

She's not just a pretty face, beautiful body and clever mind.
