Infection from OWO

22 posts in this topic

Last week I had OWO and protected sex with an escort from a reputed agency (many positive feedback in the forum). I started having a mild burning sensation and frequent urination from two days later. Today I went to GUM and they collected samples for the test. From the initial assessment they confirmed there is an inflammation due to bacterial infection and gave me azithromycine tablets to be taken once. I was also given hep B vaccination. I have second vaccination next week and the nurse told me that the complete results will be shared then. I am very much scared. That was my first punt and I don't want to do OWO again. Can some one tell me will this medicine help me in curing the infection? Is the infection serious? Am I screwed up rest of my life?

Don't worry, just take the tablet for the infection, you can get infections from other things not sex related and as it happened only two days after OWO don't worry. Unless they have told you that you are confirmed to Hepc there is nothing to worry about either, its just a precaution just like any vaccinations you had as a child, its a prevention for the future not a cure for something you already have.

The reputation of an agency will have no relevance in catching anything.

Until you have a proper diagnosis, there isn't anyway of answering this question.

Just so you know the reputation of an agency wont change how you get the infection as stated by Jkay however i have been reading through some of the medical notes online and realized the at least the Hep you have got is not as scary as the rest, with the proper treatment you can actually be cleared of it early. You can have a look at the link below that will, i think, ease your mind.

Other wise so sorry for the infection, hope you get better soon.

He said he was given the Hep B vaccination, not that he has Hep B. There's a huge difference. Hep B vaccinations are given to people who are in contact with bodily fluids, which includes sex workers and their clients.

Thanks for your advise. I took my tablets all at once as advices by gum nurse 3 days back. But not seeing any improvements, still feeling the mild burning sensation as before. I am trying to avoid seeing the Internet, but could not help and seeing scarier comments like sti bacteria have strong resistance and won't go with the medication. Any one had this issue before?

So far I haven't got any text or call from the clinic, is it a positive or negative sign?

i am really scared and all kinds of negative thoughts surrounds me. I am separated with my partner for few months now and now I don't know whether I can start my new life in the future.

Is this fear usual for the first time punter?

more likely to be a urinary tract infection,  Drink loads of water and it will go.  You may be dehydrated, that will inflame your urethra and ureta.  If your wee smells or is not a very pale yellow you need to drink more water.

Tell the nurse when you attend your next appointment, they'll be able to give the best advise, based on your test results and a possible definite diagnosis.

Yes, what Coventry says about UTI and dehydration is the most likely answer. And at this time of year you may simply be run down and more prone to infection. And because of the incubation period versus your meeting date it is probably unrelated to sex. Drink more fluids, get some sleep, ... take some vitamins if you must.

Another possibility given your recent split is that you may have a touch of prostatitis, which can develop if you haven't had the opportunity to 'clear your pipes out' as often as is necessary to prevent a bacterial infection forming. But this is much less likely as presumably you masterbate at least periodically. And the chances of you contracting Hepatitis from OWO on your first ever meet have got to be tiny - don't lose sleep over that tiny possibility.

Anyway, you have taken the tablets. Just await the results. And don't change any habits - such as washing much more or with different soaps - as that is always likely to produce another reaction from soaps / detergents etc.

P.

I would suggest you take a break from the internet, if you have taken the pills as directed and the clinic have not texted you any further results its fair to say you have nothing but a pretty common urinary infection that anyone can get even if you are a virgin, at a guess I would say you have maybe kidneys stones that's caused the infections, book an appointment with your GP AND STOP USING THE INTERNET.

I didn't check the Internet and I am feeling a bit better now at least mentally.  But my symptoms haven't gone. Still feeling the heat and burning sensation. I am drinking a lot of water which results in frequent urinating, am also getting a foul smell in the urine in the last two days. Could it be chlamadya or ghonneria if not uti? Are they treatable? Am praying God it should not be hiv.

Hope you get out of this mate - I only ever had owo a couple of times and sweated a bit after though I was ok I would avoid it in the future. I know the chances are slim but your example and others proves it does happen. Too much of a co-incidence that you picked up this a couple of days after owo. I disagree with the others - it's unlikely to have any other cause than unprotected oral sex.

It is not HIV and very unlikely to be caught from OWO anyway.   HIV takes a long time to show up.. It is probably a UTI as Cov said..

Gonorrhea, you would be very unlucky as the bacteria is in the throat of a woman and the odds are even less for a man to catch this way.. As for catching the new strain of Gonorrhea very unlikely at the moment - only 16 cases announced so far - though something for the industry to watch out for definitely. Not sure why you were expecting the results over the New Years anyway.. The Gum clinic is closed.

You remind of the poster 'go1denboy' who wrote very similarly to you.

The discharge plus the 2 day incubation suggests gonorrhea. Oral Gonorrhea bacteria usually resides right at the back the mouth / throat.

Although at 2 days you showed symptoms very early for gonorrhea - but still within the typical 2-5 day range.

The tablets you were given were most probably combination treatment for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia - and the staff may have simply treated you for both as you presented with a discharge and burning sensation on urination. Standard practice.

Anyways, you will get the test results back tomorrow so you can tell us all then answer to the puzzle.

Just now back from gum clinic. Got my results. All negative. They said the infection could be something else and advised me to meet the doctor on Wednesday if the symptoms still exists. They also recommended to take the hiv test after 3 weeks. If I wish I can take another test on Wednesday For chlamadya and ghonneria which will be 2 weeks by then after the OWO to get more accurate results if there are still some doubts.

The symptoms wouldn't be HIV (as I understand it symptoms only arise many months if not years down the line). Yes there are incubation periods, however once again 'as I understand it' presence of symptoms would equal antibodies present = detection by test.

There are many other things unrelated to having sex with another person, which it most probably is. It's easy to read a lot into symptoms, especially if feeling guilty and give yourself a scare.

Whenever I hear of someone catching chlamydia from oral, I automatically feel a ratchiness in my throat or get a cold and assume the sort throat is something else! That's not to say symptoms shouldn't be ignored.

i am sure that intimate contact can lead to no STI infections.  stuff like colds and flu. dunno if there are stats for this.  how do you prove an infection was punting related or just something from the office or pub.

As said by strawberry I think the presence of symptoms is the tesult of antibodies being produced. They first said there was an infection when they first examined the swab under microscope but today they said there was a slight inflammation but later in the lab got confirmed no sti. I am not sure which one to believe. Is it ok to take another test in 2 days, which will be 2 weeks after OWO. At least I can then look for the actual reason of my issue.

Time to move on, your Penis is not going to drop off. If you still have the urinary infection then go to your GP and he may give you a 7 days of antibiotics.
