Starting my own website

18 posts in this topic

Hi all,

I would love to have my own website.

Firstly, I would love any recommendations as to good website designers which are reasonable. I would like to have a place where I can upload images, a blog and a link to my social media.

Secondly, good places for me to then advertise.

I have been looking through various forums but I would love to hear from other peoples perspectives to get a well rounded view and hopefully make a well informed decision.

Thanks for your help!

Is this a very fancy way of asking me to start my own Punternet profile?

Well as you don't seem to have any advertising it would be rude of me not to make you aware of the Punternt facilities on offer and also what you can do with your forum profile.

JKay may be biased, but Punternet is a good place to advertise. ;) And he's right, you don't need your website up to do it. You can add it later!

My web mistress is a whiz with websites and could almost certainly give you a good deal on something! She created this for me: http://www.summerscharm.co.uk/ and she can be reached on here: http://www.ladysparq.com/

Escort Design are great. You create the website yourself using one of their many templates and it also gives you the freedom to add/change things daily. You are then free and in control of everything in the content. Good luck! I am happy to help if you need any advice navigating the site. xx

On the www.saafe.info website (Support And Advice For Escorts) there is a section devoted to advice on setting up your own website.

Annabel you have probably already aroused interest, that won't be turned to bookings. At the moment your profile reveals your gender and birthday.  Say a little more about yourself, location would be helpful, get on the PN directory, and take it from there

Escort Design are good, but to blog use an external site like Blogger. I used the blog feature on my Escort Design site and they kept randomly removing posts without explanation. not what you expect from a site that you have been paying to use for years grrrr.

If budget is minimal, you can just use www.wix.com or squarespace.com which are great website server spaces to host your website. Free wix ones have banner advertising on your site and a wix.com suffix - but you'll have options to upgrade and buy a unique .com domain name. They have some nice simple templates to work with to create your website landing page, gallery, rates, faq's etc.

I personally use a separate domain/hosting company (go daddy is great!) and buy a pre-designed Wordpress template to create my websites and personalise what I need from that. Doing it this way is a lot more involved, but technically much more flexible.

Ah you guys are amazing, I have taken your advice already. I already stared up my Punternet profile and it was just approved.

I will be looking also at SAAFE and there are a few people there which design websites for escorts. I wouldn't manage to make my own at this point, I have a busy schedule and to learn a whole new subject would be quite daunting!

Thank you Sofia and every body for your help and support.

I definitely would like a blog, I get up to no good and I find it's the best outlet o.O

I do have a very specific idea as to how I want it to look.

Now it's just discovering the best directories.

make sure you buy your own URL (web address).  if you fall out with your web guy he can hold hold you to ransom.  if you own the url, you can move to another web designer.

try lcn.com but other companies exist.

With regards to directories it depends on your pricing and photo quality (ie professional vs selfies). Eros is fab if you're £250+ p/h with pro photos. Punternet, London Escort Guide and London Independents are good for all prices ranges. Adultwork is free to set up on, but not worth bothering to pay for add on features if you charge upwards of £200.x

ps; the guys on saafe who design sites are very very good, and a great value for money for the quality. Peruse saafe and you'll be able to see some of the sites they've designed.

If you have an Adultwork profile they have an option to build a site on your own domain from that, I remember Francesca of London had hers set up and it looked pretty professional and all your content is managed in own place.

If you do buy your own domain, make sure to use the anonymity options because so many people are forgetting to protect their privacy... just my 2 cents !
