Anyone know how long the current deal is with SKY TV before VM ramp up the rights to show on SKY? or will it end up exclusively at VM?

Well, it's happened. But don't think this will result in F1 on Virgin media for a good while - Sky have an exclusive contract from 2019 to 2024. F1 may have changed hands again by then.

Anyone who follows Formula One, or modern business in general, knows that contracts (circuits, drivers, engineers, aerodynamisists (sp)) are only valid until someone buys them out.

I will only watch it on FTA, or try to avoid the result and watch the highlights, so whether Sky or Virgin charge to watch the races makes no difference to me.....and several million other ex-fans.

F1 won't be on free to air from 2019 unless sky sub contract a highlights programme, and they'd probably introduce restrictions on that, like with MotoGP shown live on BT Sport and then highlights shown a day later FTA

Stranger things have happened so it would be no surprise at all if Liberty pay Sky out of their contract to stop them paying £100m a year for their content so that they can show it on their own platforms ;)

Don't streaming appliances and app add-ons make everything free to air?
