Rumpy Pumpy on stage.

5 posts in this topic

First I’ve heard of this.  Sounds interesting.  Anyone dare to take the wife?

Rumpy Pumpy.  A case of Tea and Crumpets starring Louise Jameson and Linda Nolan.

Theatre Royal Windsor and Union Theatre Southwark.

When two nice ladies from the Hampshire Womens' Institute, Jean Johnson and Shirley Landels, decide to campaign for the decriminalisation of prostitution and to improve conditions for Working Girls, they decide to go on a search for the perfect Brothel.

Holly Spencer, Brothel Madame, contacts them. She has the perfect brothel that these WI ladies could be looking for! Her brothel is health and safety checked and the Police and Town Councillors know they are there – 'They're our very best customers!' quips Holly. When the two conflicting worlds of Womens' Institute Members from the shires and earthy Working Girls collide for tea and crumpets, comedy and chaos ensue in this very British Comedy.

"The remarkable true story of two genteel ladies from the Hampshire Women's Institute who take it upon themselves to campaign for better conditions for working girls. Rumpy Pumpy! is a charming and very English comedy of manners, with a good social conscience at its heart. Its heart-warming plea for justice is impassioned!" Entertainment Focus

"How do you do the right thing when there is no 'right thing?' Barbara Jane Mackie's Musical shines a light on a dark corner of British life and asks if it really has to be that way." Broadway World

Barbara Jane Mackie's exuberant new musical Rumpy Pumpy!  has been dubbed The Female Full Monty.  Fun and frothy, with a gritty edge, the production created a terrific buzz on the Fringe opening at the Kings Head Theatre in April 2015 to sell-out audiences and widespread critical acclaim.  Warm hearted and full of raw energy, the songs are catchy and witty and are guaranteed to put a spring in your step!

Tea & Crumpets Productions, the theatrical arm of film company Carnaby International,  are delighted to bring this remarkable true story to the stage at the Theatre Royal Windsor and The Union Theatre, Southwark.  The film of 'Rumpy Pumpy!' is being developed.

Theatre Royal Windsor – 1-5 November  - Book Tickets

Union Theatre – 14-19 November- Book Tickets

One message from the reviewer was, 'I wish them well', and I couldn't agree more.
