We try and gauge interest in certain "improvements", changes etc to the Board to keep it useful to our community.

Would the following be of use to members/posters here?

  1. An Agony Aunt type forum for Medical Questions around the punting problems that we might get?
  2. A forum linked to SAAFE for ladies to get information about their trade that will assist them and keep them safer?

If so, please feel free to join the poll accordingly.

Not saying this will happen, we are just trying to judge interest

I think those are both excellent ideas. Anything that promotes the safety, health and well being of all concerned in this area is to be encouraged. Hopefully it will show the naysayers that not everyone involved is either criminally irresponsible or the victim of cruel manipulation.

I am a newbie here, its a good site, the only thing i would like to see is maybe a colour code for male and female posters, ie blue/red

some people choose odd user names (like me) and you dont know if they are male or female,,

Thats it as you were.

Well if the medical forum was run by a qualified health professional it might be ok, otherwise I personally can't see the point. Even then, surely it's best to pop down to the local GUM clinic??

Am not entirely sure why a forum for new wgs would be needed either, when saafe already exists and newbies are usually pointed in that direction?

I think that's a great idea Bird Lover.

With regards to medical forum, I agree with sarita. I think basic informations is a great idea but not like an agony aunt set up as you would have to be qualified to give such advice. All you can do is point them in the right direction

Good ideas especially for the newbie girl and punter - could you also consider a more open forum for rebuttals and comments against unfavourable field reports please?

Would be nice if somebody could be at the other end of the phone if a WG gets distressed. Something similar to the samaritans. If a WG was attacked or had a bad experience it would be nice if there was a number on here they could call. Perhaps there are members on this board who would volunteer to take on that role. Having done a telephone helpline course myself I for one would be up for that.

Again this requires certain training. I'm not sure PunterNet is the place for this sort of thing. After all, you must remember that this is predominantly a prostitute review site, not a 'sob-stories anonymous' helpline.

In the past I might have agreed, but the Hull site was decimated by a similar development, so I have some doubts/concerns.

To cut a very long story very short. A representative of sexual health campaign group was invited to join the board and proceeded to build a clique around them based on misrepresentation and fear-mongering. That clique proceeded to victimise some girls who didn't play by their rules and hounded them off the board. The clique moving on to harasses those who had taken a stance against the bullying and eventually those like myself that played safed but held a libertarian positions regarding freedom of choice.

Now OTOH Punternet is a lot stronger board and most posters here are more intelligent and better informed than most on the Hull board, but any agony aunt needs to be very carefully chosen. They need to be well informed (actually better informed than already well informed punternet membership). They need to be temperate and non-judgemental to minimise any possibility of discord. We need to avoid sexual health campaigners who just attempt to browbeat everybody into submission.

An overhaul of the banned list relating to the agencies representing asian escorts in london, is about 5 years overdue.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

The less sub-forums the better, IMHO.

Some useful input here so please keep the comments coming, rest assured that we would not either put some well meaning amateurs in place or some crusaders with drums to bang.

Some of the other suggestions have been under consideration too, including sexual differentiation in the usernames but please keep the ideas coming. Punternet is continually evolving and we are happy to consider all suggestions (Apart from those made by since banned people involving unusual sexual practices with barge poles).

How would you regulate this?

How would you regulate this?

Sorry but I do not understand the question.

If you mean how would we ensure that we don't get well meaning amateurs to run it, we would use the wealth of experience in punting and WG life in the Mod Team and Admin to select trusted people who know what they are talking about.

If you mean how could you ensure a Crusader was not allowed to run riot, the answer is simply that they get appointed but they can be removed too if they do this.

Other than that, sorry but need amplification of the question.

I trust that adds light rather than heat.

I shall have a look later and see if any other questions need a response rather than dealing with each one as it comes up.

Another one agreeing with Sarita, on both points.

Well I for one don't think that a "wealth of experience" is enough to filter out the crap. Only qualified people should be allowed to give advice regarding health matters.

It's a recipe for disaster, unless proper, trained, qualified people are giving advice and have some sort of insurance in place.

I think both are a good idea. I can't readily see a disadvantge to either.

I agree that an Agony Aunt section on health would create problems. For health matters a section of the site with links to various sexual health related sites, including links to various local GUM clinics would be helpful. A section that would allow members to submit information on new clinics would also help, since many members may prefer a smaller clinic or one outside their immediate area.

I'm not sure what the panel thinks of the idea of "field reports" on poor or excellent health centres, but it may be something to consider.

Links on where to buy condoms in bulk would also be beneficial. Also discussions of retailers offering deals on smaller packs of condoms would be helpful for those of us who see fewer clients, since condoms do expire.

I'm not sure having a forum for ppl to discuss their stis in private would be at all beneficial to to the rest of us. I wouldn't like to think that the powers that be could be privi to that sort of information without telling us.

A field in punters profiles allowing linking to their field reports. At the moment we cannot even copy and paste because the general URL field is to short. Also allowing the girls a second link so they can link to their FRs as well as there own site would be useful.

Superdrug nearly always have a brand on buy one get one free and Boots do 2 for £10 a lot.

For bulk condoms just google cheap condoms or bulk condoms, simples.

A forum linked to SAAFE? Was this a suggestion by one of the female mods by any chance? Is it the latest attempt to turn PunterNet into EscortNet? It's bad enough that there is a forum called "Dangerous Punter Warnings" to help the ladies but not an equivalent to warn men of all the rip-off artists, druggies and thugs out there. It's only a matter of time until Ghenghis changes his name to Gladys and starts a women-only forum. :)

I don't think affiliation to another forum, however well meaning, is a good idea full stop.

There are places they are just more subtle and in fact some guys slag ladies off by pm, sometimes for no-reason at all. There are also local forums many of which allow you to leave reports on ladies good or bad whether you completed the meeting or not.

The trouble is that there are guys out there who hurt and maim, how many put a guys physical well-being at risk?Secondly we have very public profiles/reputations meaning we can mostly be tracked down or at least mostly take responsibility for whatever gets said or reported in/on our names and most private women's forums require the lady to be vetted in the first place before admin will allow access. Took me over 2 years to get into the ladies section of a regional forum covering my area. When I did get in it was mostly chat or non-specifics.

I approve of new ideas, of course, and applaud you for the initiative, but I agree with Sarita, Clarence, Caitlin, Indian Delight et al on these particular proposals.
