How do WGs organise childcare?

13 posts in this topic

I'm just curious but the following recent story about the soaring cost of childcare prompted me to wonder how WGs who are mothers of younger children manage to arrange their childcare.

How do you handle the potentially unsociable/irregular working hours of being an escort? Do you stick to term time only if your child is school age? Are you unable to rely on family support if your escorting is a secret from your family?

Or do you somehow organise the childcare first and everything else has to fit in around that?

I don't have children but if I had I would not like anyone enquiring about childcare arrangements within this industry. That should not be subject to discussion especially with potential clients. Family and private life should just stay that. While probably not intended that way and borne out of genuine interest, such questions would creep me out. But I would presume any lady would have similar arrangements to any other working parent.

I wasn't suggesting anyone should divulge any personal details. I was only wondering if it is any more difficult to arrange childcare versus any other 'regular' occupation, whatever that might be...

BTW I am a parent myself so understand the problems parents face.

Childcare is childcare, all working parents have the same problem. Unless you have left them back in the motherland..

Yes but the family life of any escort is still none of your or anyone else's business

Quite so! As I read the question it wasn't escort specific, but more time of day specific.

If I work a 9 - 5 office day, I think I'll not find it difficult to get child care sorted, albeit it will cost a deal. If, however, I'm say (no, JRC, not you!) a taxi driver, working the 12.00 - 23.00 shift (or, to avoid going OT, an escort working the ditto shift) how much more difficult is child-care?

Several escorts I know have kids, they take it in turns. They work for those agencies that pick you up and keep you out from 7pm-5am. They just work seperate nights and then they are returning the favour.

Another friend who I worked with, she borrowed my room, I would just take the child out over the park or vice versa. I think it is different if you incall all day but where we both only had one or two appts a day then it worked for us, we could go to the park, bank, shopping. I don't have kids so not a problem for me.

Where theres a way theres a means

Good point. But surely that would be the same concerns any shift worker would have - such as nurses, police officers or those employed by emergency services etc. Escorts would face the same issues as many other parents working 'unsociable hours' and probably resort to a mixture of paid childcare and members of their family helping out for example. Besides it seems already a fairly established fact that a large part of the escort community tends to work during the day, i.e normal 'office hours'.

No! You must remember we are a different species since we are WG's so everything is different, we are to be analysed poked and prodded like a strange specimen under the scientists microscope.

The problem l have sometimes known ladies to face is when they have paid a babysitter then gone to work all day and not made any money.

At last the truth, I have been to Strawberries place of business, she keeps them in pods in the cellar, there were dozens of them. However some may have got damaged during the Cumbria floods the other month. I am sure she will grow more of these Alien Escort Children to keep the race growing so no worries there, be happy.

A couple of Escorts who previously had well-paid jobs but with long hours have told me that being able to work flexibly, and therefore be more available for their children, is one of the main attractions of the work.
