i have had phimosis my whole life

77 posts in this topic

well, the subject title says it all. i have had phimosis my whole life(i am 27)

i have known for quite a few years that things were not exactly normal down there but i have let it pass. even when my penis is not erect i cant roll back the foreskin back properly

i can honestly say i have never properly enjoyed sexual intercourse, it has always been a bit sore and uncomfortable, sometimes more than others. i have said on here before that i enjoy oral(which is usually pain free, though probably not getting the full satisfaction from) more than intercourse and this is the reason why

another negative is of course the hygiene issue. i try and wash as best i can. the thought of looking unhygienic is a really downer because i take care of myself in the hygiene department well. a couple of escorts have gone right in and given me OWO without a second thought. a couple have given it a look over to see everything is clean and have gone ahead. and a couple have said that they will have to put a condom on for OWO without looking at it properly. i guess it depends on the escort

i have got to a stage now where i just want it sorted. i have looked online to see what can be done: manual stretching, creams and, of course, circumcision seem to be the cures

i have looked at a couple of threads on here already but would just like some opinions from punters and escorts who have dealt with phimosis in one way or another. have any punters been circumcised as an adult? have creams worked? do the ladies on here not like seeing guys with phimosis?

sorry for the long post and i will be thankful for any advice

thanks for the reply

if i knew cicumcision would be a success afterwards i would probably rather do that than muck about with creams for months and not get anywhere

the only problems with that are that at the moment i am living with my parents and i would probably have to tell them what i was getting done. it would be hard to keep secret. and another thing are the possible risks like less sensation i have read(though it is not pleasurable at all at the moment so i might not even notice that) and i think it was a thread on here that i read that it is possible that you lose getting an erection after circumcision, which is quite scary

I have a client that used to have this problem. After lots of long talks, I managed to convince him that seeing a doctor would not be too embarrassing and after a few consultations he decided on circumcision.

It was in his words, "the best decision he ever made".

Our bookings are now so much more enjoyable for him. He no longer has any pain and is free to indulge in any sexual activity he wishes, without worrying it may hurt.

IMO, go see your doctor and have a chat. He will tell you the most viable option for you.

difficult one my mate never had any problems, I was done as a baby and if anything I sometimes think it makes me more sensitive as i do tend to have a premature ejaculation problem, I obviously cant compare before and after.

I'm sure I've seen threads similar to this either here or somewhere else and dont recall anyone having sensitivity problems.

I dont know why you would have a problem with your parents, its not as if they wont understand that its possible to have problems in that department.

Excellent and very sensible advice in my view.

I had this problem in my early thirties.

I opted for circumcision. A minor operation and no problems since.

Get yourself to the doc's and then I would think circumcised, why on earth you should be worried about your parents I do not understand. Speaking as a parent you just want your kids to be healthy and happy. I was circumcised as a baby, my son when he was about 3, I have had a pretty good sex life and my son seems to be having an even better one!

Seriously, see the doc.

I had, if not full-blown phimosis, then certainly it in a mild degree as when I first became seriously sexually active I would find sometimes find the foreskin trapped behind the glans after intercourse (not after masturbation as presumably I was in more control). I didn't bother too much about this as it generally resolved itself whenever my penis found itself in a "gone small due to cold" condition.

One day, however it didn't and end up as paraphimosis whereby the thing was stuck with the glans still gorged with blood that could not escape. If left untreated this can cause gangrene in the penis as the blood becomes de-oxygenated and tissue dies. This is a medical emergency as you can imagine and I used up in A&E. Under no circumstances should you ever attempt to ejaculate to fix the problem as this just makes matters worse.

The remedy for this was the so-called Dundee method - excessions to the glans whereby a needle is inserted and enough blood drained off to allow the glans to return to normal. Yep, a needle inserted about 4 or 5 times in your erect and by now very sore glans. Despite local anesethetic this hurts quite a bit but is better than a forced amputation of the end of your penis.

The GP had suggested that circumsion might be a solution if it occured again, but as it happens it never has and I suspect the forced stretching of the foreskin during the paraphimosis might have helped resolved the problem. Full circumcision is not always necessary, two male friends of mine have had a partial one done to correct phimosis where not all the foreskin is removed. I saw one friend's penis after he'd had it done and it wasn't at all obvious.

Knowing what I know now and having lived through the painful emergency treatment and been told in no uncertain terms as to what can happen if paraphimosis is left untreated I regard myself as having had a lucky escape.

At the end of the day your parents are fully aware you have a penis as that is how the midwife they sexed you! Obviously I don't know of the relationship between you and your parents but I would imagine that, like all parents, they would be horrified if you felt forced into leaving something like this untreated rather than mention it to them. Phimosis is very, very common and chances are that your parents will know of somebody in their social sphere that has been in the same circumstances.

Best Regards,

Jack

As has already been said, phimosis is relatively common.

Maybe some of the girls you've seen haven't seen someone with it before, I remember the first time I did - I just thought 'huh?? what's going on here?'

A regular of mine finally bit the bullet and got himself circumsised, he claims sex is now much better.

I have heard that a full circumcision isn't often necessary - apparantly there is a small op where the dr just snips a little of the connecting tissue to allow the foreskin to move more freely.

There was a thread recently about this, let me see if I can find it.

I think you mean: pretuplasty Cat.

Anyway: there are a lots of threads about tight foreskin/phimosis on this forum.

Nope! Can't find the thread now! Anyway, there ARE other less drastic cures, so speak to your dr about them. And hopefully someone else will be able to post here about the options.

Quite right Cat, it would be imprudent to go off half-cocked, so to speak.

And bear in mind that some of the remedies have drawbacks.

Yes, and not because of such an issue - just thought I'd like it better that way. And I did, I only regret having waited so long.

so some people say circumcision is a breeze while others say circumcision is too big a step when it is probably not needed?

no wonder some blokes live with this crap when there is no definite answer as a cure.

and i know i should just go to the doctor but doctors wont give a shit about this as it is not life threatening. probably just give me some of those creams which i doubt will work.

Any surgery has some theoretical risks. This one however is among the simplest, I'd take a re-circ over a root canal every day. Check out the circlist website for more info.

I would not go to a GP, I would go to a quality London GUM clinic and hope that you do not get a young female doctor. They will be more familar with that type of problem than any GP. Good luck

Jack

I dunno what phimosis is, but I have been circumcised as an adult. It was in my pre-punting days and happened as a result of a night of passion with Ms Lick n Suck. Mid-coitus, I felt a tight pain in my foreskin. Things then took a serious turn cos the pain and sensitivity just got worse. My foreskin was stretched around the base of my bell-end and wouldn't get back into place. After an hour of manipulation, we had to call out the doctor in the middle of the night. He applied some cream to get and got it back into place, much to my relief. But he did explain to me that I would have to get circumcised cos this could happen again. So I took his advise, went to the doctors and they had me in hospital within a couple of weeks for a minor operation.

Once I had the snip, it was a bit sore for a week, and I was the butt of jokes among me mates for a day or so, but I would never regret having it done for a moment. When I had a foreskin, it could never stretch back over the helmet, and would sometimes get sore during vigorous shagging. Since getting rid of it, sex is far better without the foreskin.

My recommendation is to get the foreskin snipped off. You won't regret it.

l have heard of a device called a glansie which is like a small balloon device which is inserted into the foreskin and it eventally opens the foreskin.

Just because it's not life threatening doesn't mean your doctor won't give a damn.

It's important, both to your mental and sexual wellbeing so get your butt down there.
