Police raids.

5 posts in this topic

I'm new to this site, and have not as yet visited a working girl. I am seriously considering however. What puts me off is the possiblity of be caught with her by the police and charged or warned. Because of the nature of my job I cannot have any kind of criminal record. I need a clean CRB.

On TV shows the police are shown raiding houses where brothels are suspected. What is the story with ladies describing themselves as 'independent escorts' working from their own flat/house and advertising from their own website? Do the police regularly raid such workers? Is there a risk of being caught doing an 'incall' with such a worker?

Paying for sex, visiting a brothel are not criminal offences. You will not get a criminal record even if the place you visit is raided. From 1st April however if a place happens to be raided whilst you are there and the ladies involved happen to be proven to be being forced into their work, then yes you will get a criminal record, should the police decide to prosecute.

Until then you would be commiting no crime and after then only if the women are being forced. From what I hear raids are few and far between with different policing authorities having different policies. Some are tolerant, others not so. Generally they seem to only go in where there are other offences being commited - so drugs, firearms etc with HMRC tagging along for undeclared revenues.

The Police are not interested in true Independents as they are not commiting any crime.

Illegal

Soliciting (sex for money) in a public place.

Kerb crawling.

Running or managing a brothel, but not working as a prostitute in one or visiting one as a punter.

Paying a trafficked prostitute, sex doesn't even have to happen.

Having sex with a prostitute under 18.

Legal

Paying for sex, either incall or outcall is legal in the UK, providing both you and her are over 18 and no sex act or soliciting occurs in public. Telephone, email, internet, inside a brothel or hotel room are not public places. Escort usually refers to independent working girls, but can include agency girls and parlour girls doing outcall. If you stick with British W/G in brothels or Independent Escorts you will absolutely fine.
