Many of the girls' sites have blog pages. Some use them, some don't--some keep them up-to-date, others don't--some blogs are particurly interesting, others boring. Blogs influence me in my selection of a lady as it gives me ( or I believe it gives me ) an insight into their character. Are others influenced in the same way?

No.

Belle de Jour has a lot to answer for ! - ever since her, every girl feels the need to have a blog.

Most are badly written.

All they show is how tediously boring girls' lives are.

100% agree, I've seen about 3 remotely interesting ones. Prostitution can be a very boring trade.

You will find that some girls have been writing them for many years.

I started them at the request and advice from a few people, both wg's and gents, from this site!

I believe my blogs are quite boring at times, but if I were to show you the emails I get from complete strangers, you would be just as surprised as I. Always stumps me to know that people actually read them! :D

They may not be to your standards but they draw attention from those I wish to lure to my den. Works for me, see?

Its difficult to try and keep my personal life off there. It's why I never bothered before. I felt I might give too much away. I would love to write about my encounters with my gents, however, discretion comes to mind. I only write about them if the gents nudge me to do so. I have a couple of gents who eagerly await a brief reference to them. Not sure what that's all about. Can hardly mention them every week can I?

I don't really read ladies blogs but I did read ms Hilton's blog once when someone pointed me in that direction... woah

I find the gents blogs are great though. I've managed to goad a couple of gents into writing them... still working on one or two others :D

Blogs are great if you have something on your mind.

Did you know that blogs are just another way of advertising? From what I hear, google picks up on the blogs more than they do our sites. So you see, it's all part of the marketing plan ;)

It's this twitter thing I cant seem to get my head round... I finally figured out how to post on there!

As so often happens with working girls, people assume the dumb WG just lays back and think of England......

Theres an awful lot of background work done by the independent escort.

I'm not sure a blog is meant to be interesting......thats just a side effect

A blog is a tool! Primarily an attractant of search engines for the owner, and if done as it should be, an illustration of all sorts of things about the WG for the reader, and therefore a tool for the type of client who prefers to, to help assess the compatability of the writer to his preconceptions.

Surely you guys dont think we spend time writing for posterity, or to entertain you with some Shakesperian quality soliloquy, so bored are they the escort they have to occupy themselves with writings as they wait for the arrival of the next hormone powered client to climb out of his M&S Y-fronts.

None of it. A blog is a great big complex dynamic advertisment. Its coding is the only way some flash sites can get any S.E.O. recognition.

Its an excellent tool for S.E.O. and if used properly can add information and ambiance to your escort persona.

Of course structured well thought out content is important as it not only reflects the personality of the writer -who should be the WG and not an overabundance of cut and paste filler of loosly related tripe.

The primary content is the only concern of the reader, but with the right S.E.O. blog content is more important than many sites static pages.

Copy and paste content is a waste of time, but carefully structured posts are as good as extra pages.

What the reader sees is only the sugar coating on top of a very deep and carefully recipied SEO & groundbait cake.

If youre writing for fun then you are still doing the above without realising.

Surely you mean Belle de Jour.

Belle de Jour is an accomplished writer with a mischievous writing style, Dollymopp isn't.

but Dollymopp is also the 100% professional with so much experience that she's forgotten more than some will ever know so speaks with greater insight into the industry

IMHO:)

Fully agreed, and also the quote about vegetarianism. I tend to follow blogs of people I've met only, pretty much, just to see what they're up to.

My blog. I don't know about all this Search Engine Optimisation tech wizardry, nor do I list on directories, but I just find my blog a happy way to tell people I've fractured my arm or am feeling like death; I am aware that I come across as the escorting equivalent of Frank Spencer in it. Nobody is going to catch me talking about my new Laboutins or my shiny new thong. I am also aware that I put many people off, but they're probably people I wouldn't have clicked with anyway - win win.

Newsletters: one horrible episode that happened to another girl. I found the concept of having a newsletter a bit supermarket, BOGOF-like, and intrusive. This incident - she hit the send button without cc-ing (?) the other email addresses. Whoops. Blogs, chaps who have seen me, can return to it if they wish.

I am aware that I come across as the very erudite but sometimes just unluckyescorting equivalent of Frank Spencer in it.

just my take in bold but always worth reading - hope you are all sorted out now - arm, cold, heating etc:)

Well, this board is devoted to the concept that everyone is entitled to his/her own view of life, the world and everything,

but,

I'd assert that Dollymopp has a unique outlook on life, and puts it over brilliantly and entartainingly in her blog, which is the first page I look for when I boot up in the morning.

A lot of my clients wanted me to do a blog, and I've got a few booking strictly on the basis of it, so it really does work as a means of advertising. But I also just find it a lot of fun to write. I tend to keep it humourous. I also use it as a means to put up pictures that don't fit with my website. I've found that more explicit pictures are fine for a blog but invite trouble on the website.

I find Kirsty's blogs very interesting and well written. It shows me someone who is thoughtful as well as intelligent and well educated.
