is one of the nastiest and most hidious I have ever seen. It seems Big Brother, Mad Hattie and her psychologically flawed band of extreme feminists who not only foisted this draconian law onto the Statute Book are following up with a Witch Hunt campaign against punters, just as this Government assumes every man jack is a potential paedophile, they now assume that all Punters are sex abusers, taking advantage of vulnerable women ALL whom have been forced into offering sexual services, this could not be further from the truth. All this bad law will do is force prostitution into hands of criminals who will run protection rackets and increase the numbers of those vulnerable women who are forced or trafficked into prostitution. 1st April 2010 a very bad day for justice in the UK, excluding Scotland.

The only thing that that Christian group really cares about is to convert everyone to Christianity and get rid of all Human Rights especially for non-christians in this country and take over the country which they will when the Tories get back in after the election. Christianity should be renamed ChristINSANity.

LOL! Very good, or even just ChristINANity.

I suspect that very few will be displayed in that environment as there is the risk that they could be defaced by graffiti artists. In particular, I could see a danger that the slogan "Walk in a punter. Walk out a criminal" could become the subject of a national graffiti response to find the most appropriate and accurate word to substitute for the word "criminal". This would clearly be a distraction and not be the right "message" to be sent out. Nor is it an issue that should be the subject of "humour".

I therefore assume that they have had a rethink on this matter and decided to use advertising that cannot be "amended" or "corrected" by the public in any way.

I assume you mean online only. So those without internet access have to rely on the media to get the information from newspapers or possibly the news although i havent seen a news report about this myself as of yet. I daresay all this slipping it in virtually unnoticed suits HH.

Well, yes it would include the internet. In fact, any medium that cannot be altered or defaced by the public. I can just image these posters in public toilets be changed to the likes of:

Walk in a punter, walk out a SEX GOD!!

or Walk in a punter, walk out HAPPY!!

or Walk in a punter, walk out RECHARGED!!

but I am sure everybody can think of far better examples than these. However, these "revisions" would not convey the message the government had intended. Hence the probable move away from poster advertising.

The government have shot themselves in the foot if they do use posters. What they have never realised is that a percentage of the male population are convinced that purchase of sex has always been illegal.

These posters would initially increase the numbers visiting parlours because they now know its okay. Can you imagine the number of lads popping down to Soho if these went up in urinals?

I can confirm that - it has amazed many a client when I've informed them it is a totally legal pastime. Wonder if it's been an anti-climax for them to be told so ?

This poster is still available from http://www.care.org.uk/Publisher/File.aspx?ID=50040 but has disappeared from the Home Office website itself, so far as I can see. The previous link now migrates to http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/error404?errorurl=http://imblive:8080/documents/prostitution-poster2835.pdf--- which says 'page not found'

Is something going on here? Is bankrupt reality catching up with Nu-Labours very-difficult-to-enforce gesture laws? Or has someone realised that the poster illustrates 61 Dean Street where, last year, the ladies fought a successful legal battle to keep their walk-up open? See - http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2009/feb/19/soho-brothel-reopens

A place, in other words, where you are unlikely to 'Walk out a criminal'....

Er, um, ah! Just try this for size:

Further than the implications of the law, we need a change in cultural attitudes towards sexual exploitation. We can all use our voices - in a grace filled, non judgemental way - to talk about this issue with the people we know.

"...in a grace filled, non judgemental way..." - it does rather look as if they don't even read their own guff!

Never forget, these are the boyos who brought us the grace-filled Crusades, looting Constantinople on the way, the massacre of the Cathars, St Bartholomew's Day Massacre, burning of Catholic heretics, burning of Protestant heretics, persecution of the Hugenots, Spanish Inquisition, witch trials etc etc. Muscular Christianity has more form for violence than your average gang of thugs could even dream about

I guess, when it comes to walk ups and stuff I see where they are coming from, in that you have no idea the situation of the woman in that room.

Although, I do think they are targetting the wrong people, as the punters are not intentionally harming someone who might be doing it at their own free will.

I always use escorts and I like to think they are safer than using walk ups but I guess it's the same thing to some degree.

Shame they can't get their act together on this situation and start listening to the women and punters instead of the feminists and anti sex worker groups.

If the posters are being put up in public loos lets hope they are not high enough up the wall for christening.
