Would you do (or expect) the same?

I've just had a text from one of my favourite girls who has just kicked out a new client after he opened the 1 hour session with, "Why did you decide to start prostituting yourself?"

I suppose this sort of thing does happen from time to time but, ladies, would you:

(a) do the same;

(:D grin and bear it rather than give up £150;

© tell him to behave himself and continue?

Fellow punters, what would be your expectation if you had just handed over £150 and asked this question?

To some extent I suppose it depends whether she'd seen him before - presumably not. Certainly nobody with half a brain cell would open a punt like that. I have never asked a lady this and would consider it the height of impoliteness, although one or two have volunteered the information to me.

I think a lot would hinge on the manner and tone in which the question was asked.

Having said that, it is not exactly the best opening gambit regardless of any nuances.

I suppose I'd be amazed if she wasn't upset by me asking it, I'd be even more upset to discover that I'd suddenly gone mental and totally lost control of my speech:eek:

I'd expect exactly the same. Lack of respect is completely unnecessary and should not be tolerated.

Wow! How spooky is that? You have started this thread at exactly the same time I started something very similar.

I might be confused (which wouldn't be the first time nor last), but I would think its probably a little rude and unnecessary on the punters part.

It does seem to be somewhat tactless (the great British gift of understatement) and is hardly the way to set up an hour of passion and fun.

I expect the guy to go back to his gp and ask for his medication to be changed.....

I asked an MP that once. Had pretty much the same effect.

Some people just kind of lack a social filter. I tend to think of them more as dysfunctional than disrespectful.

T I have been asked this question several times, in different manners, from jokey to downright rude.. I retorted by asking why they started mongering (not that I give a monkeys as to the answer but I wanted to see how they felt with the shoe on the other foot). As you know personal questions don't really go down well with me unless I know the person well. Yesterday I had a client continually ask me about my personal sex life... I just ignored him, I mean did he really want to hear the answers.. they would have made him feel about 3 inches tall if I told him how amazing, fabulous etc it really is and totally nothing like paid sex with him. :D

You really would be suprised at how many men actually ask this question.

I have found first timers the worst for this and I am guessing they ask because they are nervous and cannot think of anything else to say.

I normally just smile, tell them it is because I enjoy sex and just thought to myself why not get paid for it.

To me it is not a personal question as no one is expecting an in depth answer but it does let the gent know I do this because I enjoy what I do.

I wouldnt ask such a question its obviously completely insensitive and rude, but if i did i would ensure i hadnt handed the cash over first as i would expect the atmosphere to turn sour and wouldnt be interested in punting in such a situation so would leave anyway. So i would have shot myself in the foot. Even if i had punted with the lady a number of times i wouldnt ask this, but if she bought it up as has happened to me, then i would happily discuss the subject with her.

In my view a punter who would say this is either a mentalist who has no insight into acceptable behaviour, someone who gets off on belittling others or someone with no tact who may not know what to say due to nerves.

I think that probably sums up why a new client would say that. You say silly things when you are nervous and regret it later.

Luckily my nerves have never led me into those kind of depths.:D

Let me act the devil's advocate here. [ BTW , I have never nor would I ever ask such a question of a Wg-- in fact I never ask them anything about their personal lives , hence I seldom see the same Wg twice as if I really like someone, I want to know more about them as individuals ,not just their taste in music etc.

Anyway back to the devil -- The HH's of this world believe that all prostitutes hate being WGs and only do so because they feel compelled for a range of reasons. However, many WGs specifically say on their profiles how they love being escorts, love sex, love the adventure , wished they had got into the business earlier etc, etc. Now , why should a punter therefore feel, a newbie in particular, that asking this mundane question of someone in the profession, is inappropriate ?

Asking someone generally how or why they decided to get into a particular business is seen as perfectly normal. Deliberately avoiding such a normal question feels like an acceptance / acknowlegement only that everyone should know that the lady must have taken up the profession under unusual stress and very difficult circumstances. Any comments ?

I dont agree HH does believe all WGs hate being WGs, as a reasonably intelligent woman she would know many do choose to become one and her own advisers would of told her such. The point is this truth doesnt fit her crusade so she ignores it in my view.

For me anyway i dont see it as my business to ask the lady, anymore than its hers to ask me why i punt. When i meet a newbie to me its not relevant, as you punt with a lady over a period then some ladies open up (no pun intended:)) and this can become a mutual topic of conversation, you gauge how comfortable she is talking about things by using your common sense, unfortunately some people havent got any.:D

Could it be that this idiot had changed his mind, and, cunning bastard, thought that that was the best way to get his money back?

Perhaps he just wanted to make sure she was not being controlled for gain or whatever the final formulation was.

I have met many clients that ask my how or why I got into this. Guys are just intrigued. They like to have a nosey about.

Tactless and I've had things like that said before but I do wonder if it's because of the new laws about to be implemented that some clients will be trying to establish whether the lady is there of her own fee will ? Wonder if escorts will get this question more often ?

Good point and i think some punters will ask more questions. My way of asking will be to say what do you think of this new law then and take it from there.

Overall, i think the majority of punters will be unaware of the new law and some of them already believe all prostitution is illegal anyway in my experience.:D

Being a pedant did he not ask "Why did you prostitute yourself?" which is a much more degrading question than "Why did you become a prostitute?" (And this from me who can't spell or find spellchecker).

I think he got off very lightly and did not go home with his teeth in a paper bag

Not that I am ever anything but polite sometimes to the point that it can affect the punt but do you think you would eventually become numb to these sorts of comments.

Does this type of work change your perspective of men in general?

I really can't see what the big deal is.

I'm quite happy to tell my gents why I got into this. No big mystery. I just love sex, enjoy the company of gentlemen and I get paid too! It's as simple as that.

Why take offence to such a question... unless it was asked in a malicious manner??? Some gents are genuinely interested in this topic. I had quite a convo with a gent in Manchester over the weekend. I knew by the look on his face he was intrigued by what I do and I was happy to indulge him.
