Dan,

on another thread you called me paranoid for being concerned about how the new law would work.

Why would you be worried about searching for perfectly legal sites when you are not apparently worried about getting arrested under the new law?

Only 9 months! I looked at my google account and can see all my searches back to December 2005!!! But in my case I signed up with google for search history, and email so all correspondence is also kept and tracked.

Google also tracks the IP address, and cookies if enabled to try and personalize your search. So if you search for escorts, and keep clicking on blonde escorts, google should start showing you more blonde escorts instead of brunette escorts. And if you use your mobile phone with google lattitude and search for escorts, then hopefully it shows you escorts in the area you are searching from.

Why are you searching for Punternet? Don't you just go straight to punternet?

In any case your access to the Internet, web and email, is being tracked by your ISP, and they are meant to keep records of your access for 1 year so the Government can go sniffing.

Of course it could be they would look at the logs of the escort website as well, and they could be using google analytics, so yet again go to google and find who has visited that site. Yes its scary, Google knows all about you, but they tell us they are not evil.

Now searching is different to paying and promising to pay. In any case why does it matter, you will of course only be going to escorts who are not forced, threatened, or coercion or deceived.

I agree with Elrond. Looking at sites is in no way indicative of an intention to commit a crime. I'm sure many teenage boys look at escort sites quite regularly for titillation, that doesn't mean they would take the next step and actually try and book an appointment, much less an appointment with a lady they know to be trafficked.

This is exactly the kind of scare mongering the legislators set out to achieve. :)
