Website Links on 'The Other Site'

9 posts in this topic

Perhaps one of the lady members can explain this to me.

I've recently stumbled across the website of a particular Yorkshire-based SP. She's young, looks lovely, she's a qualified masseuse and the site looks thoroughly professional. I checked whether she also has a profile Over There. She does, but there is no link to or mention of her personal website.

I've often noticed this on profiles there. What I don't understand is, if a lady's gone to the trouble and expense of setting up a really nice website, why wouldn't she want to draw it to the attention of potential punters who find her on That Site? Is it because they charge a disporportionate fee to carry such links? I can't think of any other obvious reason, but it would surely have to be an immense sum not to make a link worthwhile, and plenty of ladies seem to have far less helpful links on their profiles. :)

You cannot display your web address on **,if you do your profile will be deleted.

When you fill in all your details when setting up the account there is a section called "MANAGE YOUR LINKS" you have to add you website as a link and name is somthing like..."LINK TO CHLOE,S WEBSITE" and so on. When you pay to be shown as available to day and you tick the box for you phone number to be showing on the days you are working then you website address will show up automatically on your profile, but if they find you have the link to your website without a reciprical link on yours to theirs then they will close down your account and probably turn you into a service seeker until you add one to you webpage. They do have a links button and banner page for you to pick the one you would like on your website, read the instructions first though as they may demand its either on the first page,on your welcome page,on a page 3 clicks from the home page or one of the first 3 links on your front page, etc etc.....xx I hope this helps out a little.

Thanks Chloe, that is helpful but, sorry, I wasn't entirely clear. As you say, there are lots of links like 'My website',but this lady, along with quite a few others, doesn't have even that. That's what I can't quite get my head round! :)

You can only show website links if you're paying for the phone number display or something similar - I only have my number showing if I'm going to be working away somewhere (your profile is not visible on the Tours bit unless you pay) and even then I don't always bother with my website link as I feel there is enough information on my page for it to be unnecessary. The majority of the punters who make contact through the site don't even bother reading the profile thoroughly and don't notice the website link so I tend leave it off; I do allude to my website in my profile text, so those who are interested can find it easily enough, but I live in a small town and it is not worth me paying £300+ a year on advertising that isn't conducive to the way I work.

I'm not a cheapskate and am happy to pay for advertising that works (including a deluxe listing on here as it's worth every penny), but the contact, particularly by telephone, that I generally get through the other site doesn't tend to result in that much business unless I'm away from home, or not the sort of business I want - it does tend to be more geared towards those who want/accept short notice or same day bookings which I don't really do. And from a sanity POV, if the number has been up a week or so, there is an immediate, definite and noticeable decrease in phone numpties after you remove it :).

No,you only need to have a reciprical link button on your webpage to have a link to your website, you can only actually show your website address on your profile if you pay for your number to be showing, but its only £1 for that on the day your working.

The tours section is completely free to advertise on,you do however have to pay £1.50 per working day to be advertised in the local section and between £12 and £40 to be advertised in the featured section but its cheaper the earlier you book it.It is £5 per working day to show as available on that day but there is also a working days calender which you can fill in so you are shown as available that day by default. It works out for me to be £7.50 per working day and my tour days are usually full to the brim with only the odd 30min slot not filled, any cancellations are usually filled very quickly also and this is all down to linking my website to other directories and the payed advertising on **, about 80% of the clients who book me start of with "hi i saw your add on **"

Amy, be careful with it. I once said on my profile "If you want to find more information, my website is easily Googlable" . They removed this sentence and sent me a warning. Luckily I did not had much credits, otherwise they probably would have deleted my profile together with credits. (as they did before)

Tony: as already been said, to display link to your website cost £1 a day. (for that you can display your phone number too). It works £30 a month, which I consider quite a high outlay considering the type of the enquiries and timewasters who are contacting you through that website.

Also: she might got enough work as it is for herself, and no need an additional advertising expenditure.

Yeah, I got a bollocking once but I had put something like 'my contact number is on my personal website, just Google Amy of Scarborough' and it was far too obvious. I do keep an eye on it though (and I never have many credits anyway).

From the site:

'There is no fee for setting up a tour but for your tours to appear on the Site you must be subscribed to, or participating in, one of the following schemes: Featured Profile (Escort), Available Today (or another), Phone Number Display or Member of the Week. On the days that you are enrolled/subscribed your tours will be included in the Tours part of the Site.'

None of these 'schemes' are free. The website link does require a reciprocal link (which I have) but is also only shown on your profile when you are paying to show your number:

'All links must link to a site that displays one of the @dultWork.com Banners. Links will only be displayed on days where the Banner is being displayed on that site and you are paying to display your phone number.'

So yes, it is indeed free to add links and write Tour listings. My problem is that it's a quid a day for anybody other than you to be able to look at them.

Absolutely correct. I didn't add a link to my website at first because I wanted to see where the enquiries were coming from, especially due to the high number of TW from there who contact new girls.

Basically if you want to put your link on your profile you have to be paying for your phone number to be listed - a return link/banner is not enough.

Thanks for your responses ladies, that's interesting, I thought knowing The Other Site it would be something to do with finances. I must admit, if I find a lady who appeals to me there I tend to search for a website anyway (I found yours that way Amy), and vice versa.
