A hypothetical for when the Bill is an Act

9 posts in this topic

So far as I can stand to read, the Bill" refers throughout to paying women for sex.

On some agency sites recently I have been tempted by a photo but have moved rapidly on when realising the "lady is a he". So will this be the "legal" business of agencies in the future? Where do the Catholics & other fundamentalists who have worked so hard for the Bill stand on this possible outcome? Surely it is Anathema!

Even more confusing; what about a full "Post-op" TS?

at present I believe the state does not recognise sex change (a TS in jail goes to the Male wing etc).

Law and the bedroom really do not mix

...And any other aspect of the forthcoming act that appears to be 'vague', will be intrepreted by Judges as they make their decisions and set precedents, as to what the act implicitly implies, means etc (even if it does not

explicitly say so in the statute books) in cases

Everything is hypothetical since controlled for gain is so unclearly defined -deliberately so, I believe. Nevertheless it apparently applies even if the 'crime' is committed abroad.

Now, suppose I return to old Bangkok and slip into a hostess bar on Soi Cowboy, as I used to do long ago. A pretty girl sits down next to me me and the following conversation ensues, so standard that it must be on page 1 of English for Bargirls; an Elementary Primer.

'Hello, what your name?'

'*****'

'Where you come from?'

'London'

'Where you stay/how long you stay Bangkok?'

'Honey Hotel' (is the Honey Hotel still there, I wonder?)

'You got girlfriend?'

'If you're nice...'

'Naughty!!!; You buy me one drink?'.

Which I do, enjoying kisses that taste of cigarettes and tom yum soup, which takes us to page 2 of English for Bargirls, an Elementary Primer:

'You want barfine me? Pay mamasan 500 Baht? I want go hotel with you'

Now, here's the rub. Is she controlled because I have to buy her out of the bar? She can't leave unless I pay. Is she still controlled if I contain myself till closing time, when there's no question of a barfine? Or if I meet her later in some out-of-hours joint like the Thermae, where bargirls who haven't found punters tend to gravitate, sparky fireflies in a smoky gloom?

Do understand, before you reply, that the barfine is for the bar (though I think the girl gets a cut); I pay the girl significantly more, next morning.

How will our finest legal minds handle such complex cases?

Unless MI6 have their spies at the next table recording everything that goes on there will be the minor problem of bringing evidence to court before the legal minds can do anything :P

?

No, only if payment takes place in England and eventually (not very clear) if you use a British credit card. (was discussed during the meeting the 5)

. Pay cash and you'll be okay.

I think that you will find that the Gender Recognition Act 2004 means that a post-op "M to F" with a GRCert goes to a womens prison.

The state does now recognise a full sex change.

Was wondering how the bill will affect escort agencies. Will it make them illegal. If it does make them illegal,is there anything realistically the police can do to stop them operating.

Perhaps lawyers and Public Notaries will become very busy producing sworn statments for the girls along the lines of "I am doing this job of my own free will and accord, I am not being threatened, abused or controlled by a third person and am free to walk out of these premises at any time I desire" Said signed statement would be hung in a prominent position in the lounge or bedroom of the parlour.
