Whats Wrong With The World?

I was reading this article http://www.yourlocalguardian.co.uk/news/local/hounslowchiswick/8158646.Burglars_who_raped_women_at_knifepoint_jailed/

and it makes me feel phisically sick. Whats wrong with people. The worst point that makes me want to scream and shout at our governement was this sentence "The court heard they targeted the brothel because they thought prostitutes were less likely to report a break-in to police"

I share your utter revulsion Sasha, and I hope the girls concerned recover from their ordeal. Just a pity the thick vicious bastards didn't get far longer sentences.

hopefully this sentence will send out the message that rape & violent robbery will lead to prison sentences regardless of the employment status of the victims

There are some really nasty people out there, what a horrible ordeal for those girls to go through. People like that should be locked up and the key thrown away what good are they to society.

I agree. I have very very strong views about this type of violent crime. This was premeditated with absolutely no excuse whatsoever. The electric chair would be too good for them.!:D

agreed.

The ideal solution would be for them to be executed. Society does not need scum like this.

Erm...sorry guys, but having previously posted in this thread I can't allow my silence to suggest tacit support for these sort of views. I am totally repulsed by this kind of horrific assault, and I share the view that scum like these are a wate of space; but I am opposed to capital punishment for any crime, even the most emotive murder imaginable. If we were to seriously consider it, even for a moment, for violent rape, I'm afraid we would be starting out on a slippery slope...especially with a Tory government having just taken power in the country.

Capital punishment is letting them off lightly. Spending years behind bars is IMO a far greater punishment, one which will ensure they have to live with the consequences of thier crimes for a very long time

The intention was not to turn this thread onto the pros and cons of capital punishment.

Fair enough, but since the subject had been, in my view, glibly raised by two separate posters I felt it merited a response.

As for the comment about the prostitutes reporting the crime, you have yoruself said on this board that you know of numerous thefts from brothels that have not been reported by the girls, so on that point you have proved them correct in their thinking.

And thats what so sad Howard, ooops Steve. This is a RARE example of police doing the right thing. Its a terrible shame the police arent doing this more widely but when women are being prosecuted for reporting crime as in my case it puts women at greater risk and sadly proves the thugs thinking correct. Thats an issue with policing in this country and attitudes towards the police which I personally hope to see change very soon

Take a look at punterlink, forum, warnings, warning non payer... hampshire.

She was raped anally and went to the police. I've seen her a couple of times and we have exchanged e-mails on the event and other things.

Fair treatment by the Police? I don't know, but fair play to her for reporting it.

Personally for some crimes i think they had the right idea years ago, why on earth did we do away with the public stocks anyway???

Leave them stocked in public with their trousers around their ankles, their jaws wired open and a big tub of vasaline and a bucket of johnies beside them, yes i do admit before anyone points out, the johnies and vasaline may be pinched, but they can be replaced. They are unlikely to die of thirst left outside for a week in this country as it rains often, and im sure the public would be helpful in donating protien shakes on a regular basis to keep their strength up.

Problem is, if a rapist knew he was going to be executed if caught he would feel he has nothing to lose by killing the victim so I could not agree with capital punishment for rape.

I honestly have not heard of a case where the police have prosecuted working ladies or even brothel owners for reporting violent crimes against them.

Ladies and parlour owners. Get cameras and a security grill put on front door and windows and back door if necessary. The layout could me made back in a day. Those thugs wouldn't be able to get in then

Are you kidding me? Try this violent crime on for size http://www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/s/2057437_police_search_for_burglars_after_armed_raid_drama

and guess what, Im facing prosecution, currently on bail having been arrested and held for 26 hours for supporting the girl and going with her to the police station to report the crime. Just so you know they dropped the investigation into the agrevated buglery despite being given the name and work place of one of the attackers but Im still on bail

I am appalled and sorry to hear of that. Have you been in touch with John Blandford yet? He is a really good solicitor who specialises in cases like this.
