The Local Rag!

Ok in my area the 2 free newspapers have dissapeared, probably gone out of business due to lack of advertising from the recession or you have to buy the gazette at your local corner shop for that area etc!

I always remember from high schooldays when my friend did work experience in one ,that on thursday afternoon all the maids/madam would come in with there adverts or money for that weeks publication in the classifies etc!

As no freebies i wonder if they advertise anymore and also i think some sort of rule came into force thanks to MAD Hattie, you know who i mean and the internet is offering new ways to get to potential clients....

My Q is do they still do newspapers classifieds down south, most def up North though only one i can think of is LOOT!:D

My local evening paper in the East Midlands still takes ads from massage parlours, escort agencies and individual escorts. The paper is a part of the Daily Mail group though! Other papers in the area stopped taking such adverts in response to HH's call for a voluntary ban.

All my local ones still take ads but then they do charge enough for the pleasure of being in there.

I enquired about a personal ad in the local coventry rag, 57.00 PER DAY they were asking for. I asked if the other sections were as expensive and was told no. I cried exploitation, they said tough i said ...forget it.xx

The South London Press still has a full page of ads for both massage parlours and escorts. Down in my neck of the woods, however, the Friday Ad is the main outlet.

Its interesting to see that the newspaper most frequently found discarded along Country lanes is the Sport, presumably once the client has looked at the massage adverts, punted and then needs to discard said tome?

Swindon adver-no ads.

I I cried exploitation,

It's not explotation, they know the girl will cover her advert costs if she gets just one punter from the ad, so it's market forces.

The Echo does RM - I think the other newspapers in Lincs gave up when Harriet said 'boo'

Any newspaper proprietor who complied with Ms Harman's request must be pretty stupid.

Clearly it is not illegal to advertise parlours because many papers have carried on as normal and not been prosecuted.

They do have to be more careful about the content of the adverts, my local paper does not seem to allow web-site addresses. :)
