Tarquin

Friend given me Cialis 20mg, should I use them?

71 posts in this topic

My friend who has a long history of penile dysfunction has recently given me a packet of 20mg Cialis. Now, I have noticed recently that I don't seem to acheive the same type of erecting that I used to. It's hard yes, but not raging hard as it was. I#'ve put this down to muddled feelings about a girl Ive been seeing ( i can hear the groans from here!), coupled with a very busy work life and yes I've been drinking more of late.

It's been working fine, but not so impressive as Tarquin would like, so I wondered, should I open the box and give one of these tablets a try? My concern is that it might have a negative affect. Will they work by trying them out on your own first?

You'll probably be OK but, as with any prescribed medication, I'd go see your GP first to make sure that you are OK to take it.

Haven't been to my GP for nearly 10 years!

My concern was more if it could cause a negative reaction to an erection rather than an an enhanced one.

If u want to risk it then we can't stop u, but it is a well known fact that you shouldn't take medicines that are perscribed for someone else. There is a reason these meds are POM and therefore it would be best for your Gp to check you are safe to take them.

If they were safe for anyone to take, then they would be available OTC....

If you're dead set on trying it, then break one up and take a little at a time

Point taken, but I don't think it's a life threatening tab, is it it?

I was worried about it causing a non erection on my next punt.

10 years  All the more reason to go. There may be another underlying reason for Mr Willy being less impressive than he used to be.

Don't know about Cialis, but had a client try Levitra. Eventually he found 30mg works best for him, but that was through experimentation and started at 10mg. (All done under supervision of a GP. Er, well, the dosages, not the experimenting...)

So I'm seconding Amanda.

Gonna go and look up the possible side effects, but if you haven't been to the docs for 10 yrs, i really would encourage you to go get a check up.

A lot of tablets can effect your blood pressure and as you haven't been to the docs recently, you have no idea if your blood pressure is currently healthy.

Will report back shortly with more info

If you're that concerned about your erection as opposed to just being curious about the effect of Cialis then perhaps you should moderate your alcohol intake and get a once-over from your doctor ( heart, blood pressure etc).

If you do take the Cialis then I'd split the tablet in half and only take half.

Tarquers you wimp!!!

Unless you have low blood pressure or a heart condition then a 20mg Cialis tab should be totally safe and give you a boner with minimum stimulation.

However, even hay fever over the counter stuff has side effects etc so open the packet and READ THE INSTRUCTIONS INSIDE!!!!

Then if you want to wuss out you can do so with the knowledge of why you have decided not to.

PS - In a lot of countries you can buy this over the counter

I echo the views of others that say go see a Doctor, you cant be too careful IMO.:)

I take Viagra.

While I was trying that and Cialis out - with medical advice - I was told that Cialis was better once it had 'got into the system'; in other words your body got used to it over a period of time.

I've found that with Viagra.

I now take very small amounts but I top up. I'll take some the night before, some more in the morning and then a top up, sometimes, just before a meeting.

So yes, the key is trial and error.

However, some medical conditions react adversely to some of these drugs so DO see a GP.

I think that given the amount of ED pills and potions being offered over the internet (how many unsolicited emails do you get every day?), and no obvious campaign in the tabloid press as to their dangers, you'll be quite safe to try it out. I very much doubt it will reduce your potency - although if you're that concerned, your worry might!

Is that a direct Attack or just an opinion?

Only kidding Ghen!

It's a genuine question which I was hoping for a genuine answer. I've been offered a punt of a lifetime down south this weekend and I wondered ehether to go with what I know works or try a possible Super Tarquin.

Ok, I have had a look for you

Cialis is a brand name. Unbranded the drug is called tadalafil.

Common side effects so that you are aware are:

include dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, headache (including migraine), flushing, dizziness, myalgia, back pain, visual disturbances (non-arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy has been reported—stop drug if sudden visual impairment occurs), and nasal congestion.

Less Common side effects are:

include painful red eyes, palpitation, tachycardia, hypotension, hypertension, epistaxis.

They SHOULDN'T be taken by these that have low blood pressure, heart problems or angina.

Dose:

Dose

•adult over 18 years, initially 10 mg at least 30 minutes before sexual activity, subsequent doses adjusted according to response, up to 20 mg as a single dose; max. 1 dose in 24 hours (but daily dose of 10–20 mg not recommended); for patients who anticipate sexual activity at least twice weekly, 5 mg once daily can be taken, reduced to 2.5 mg once daily according to response

Note Effect of intermittent dosing may persist for longer than 24 hours

Thats info i got off BNF.org

Considering the above, I would suggest going to the docs, if you did have an undiagnosed heart problem or blood pressure problem then these tablets could be dangerous for you.

PS. In no way am i medical professional, so please do as you will with the info

Ok, here it is. Honestly it may have been more than 10 years, Ive been to an A & E with broken arm though. My dentist always says it's unusual that a man of my age () isn't taking any meditation, and my optician only last week said said that there were no abnormal signs, ie: diabetes, blood pressure etc.

Well, just don't take too much. If you have an adverse reaction and die, you want them to be able to get the lid on the coffin :(

Thanks, the males of my family do tend to die from heart attacks at a low age, 33 the youngest, my father just 52! But I drink like a fish and smoke like a trojan so what can we make of that. My corncern was that by taking the tab it might halt any kind of erection. Its going to be an overnighter so I think on reflection I'll take the tab with me to use if I detect the need. Thanks again.x

Takes an hour or so to work. Don't take too much and regard it as something to enhance your erection rather than giving you a raging hard on. Personaly i use Levitra. The effect is subtle but worthwhile

Think I should explain a little more. Maybe it's the same for most of us, I don't know. However I have two types of erection, the first a normal hard penetrative enabled, and a second a Super hard, slightly larger "my god I'm really going to fuck you hard" erection. It's the latter that hasn't been present of late.
