Extra Confessions-Miss S, new book out now.

48 posts in this topic

New book for the girls, Extra Confessions of a Working Girl, 6.99 at WHS etc.

In amongst all those 'hooker lit' books, one gal is real, I know so. It's not Booker Prize, but she just tells her true story? Starts where the last one left off, gets to London to start in a strip club, then starts at an escort agency.

The title sounds very naff. Like one of those limp Brit sex comedies from the 1970's {nudge, nudge .... wink, wink}. But the most attention grabbing thing was the price. Selling it with 69 on the price-tag seems very apt.

Ah! - But have you read Joseph Kessel's original book (the one the 1967 Catherine Deneuve film was based on)? A much better read! But then I did (do!) have a thing about Catherine Deneuve.:)

A "Hookery" section... I like it!!!!

Yeah, gotta agree... it's getting abit same old, same old now innit... bit like the old memoirs of an SAS man - these themes have been done to death... I saw a book in Tesco (of all places) the other day - titled along the lines of "Confessions of a Gigolo" or something... please! No more...

I agree, I'm bored with them too. Also, I have no interest in reading the memoirs of prostitutes...I've been doing the job myself for years, so it's a bit of a busman's holiday really.

Well I've got say I read and enjoyed her last book.

It seems that all the whoreybooks out there are either about girls forced onto the streets by a wicked step-father or the other extreme of Hollywood hookers shagging movie moguls and top businessmen in their Lear jet en route to the private Caribean island.

Miss S is the type of prostitute who I could well have picked and enjoyed a good half hour bouncy bouncy with which is very refreshing to read.

I've read the last one and this one.

Hardly great literature but I didn't expect them to be. They're an easy and entertaining read to pick up and put down over a few evenings and I thoroughly enjoyed both. Hope this new one does as well as the original, which spent several weeks in the Sunday Times Top 10 Paperbacks list IIRC, and that there may be a third next summer. Well worth the price, more power to her keyboard

In all honesty these books are not aimed at us prostitutes, they are there for the titillation of Joe & Josehine Public, and perhaps a few punters in order that they may re-live again something sexual, albeit vicariously.

Agreed. I found her last book a most excellent read and have been looking forward to the second one for a while now.

I've just finished reading this book, and enjoyed it as much as the first one. Very little unnecessary tittilation, an easy and enjoyable read. And it sounds "true", and it's not about being beaten and abused, so if it's popular with Jo Public (it's a very gurly cover) maybe it'll even help our public image.

The genre was started by a Dutch girl called Xavier Holland (not sure of first name) in a book called The Happy Hooker. At the time was regarded as porno, now would probably be serialised in Sunday papers. She enjoyed sex.

Great social evil?

Why is it always that selling sex is "your choice" until the girls exit, then it's wrong and a big mistake, a blight on societies morals?

I wont be reading your novel purely because of that comment.

"......Until the true love of a man finally rescues her from the great social evil she has become accustomed too." What bollocks.

I'm with Mrs Smith on this one. (also 'to' in this context only has one 'o').

I'm with AA & Smithy on this one.

If a man truly loves her he will respect her enough to permit her to make her own decisions ... including whether or not she wants to be "rescued"

I understand Shiraz has a book out now called "The Profession of Pleasure". It's available on Amazon.

I have ordered and await the read. I saw the Miss S book in Smiths yesterday but a quick flick through didn't encourage me to buy. I got more titilation from the tit-flashing MILF at the counter to be frank.
