Objective data on trafficking

4 posts in this topic

Found this on Google Scholar

http://www.hawaii.edu/hivandaids/Trafficking%20in%20Women%20for%20Sexual%20Exploitation%20in%20the%20UK.pdf

Bit old but figures correlate to the Pentameter arrest data. 1% of the population of UK WG's trafficked, with a plus or minus of probably 2 standard deviations.

Interesting publication - especially from the Home Office. And more so when on page 18 it cites

"These data indicate that the minimum number of women trafficked in the UK and known to the police in 1998 is 71 "

and

"Thus the minimum number of women trafficked into the UK and known to the police in the last five years is 271 "

even if the figures are a bit old the're somewhat different to the "hundreds of thousands" HH quoted in her speech to the commons.

But the Hawaii.edu figures are just those working in parlors etc. To get to the HH numbers you must add on the number of girls working in porn films as well :o

Perhaps Jacqui Smith's husband - who doubles as her Research Assistant- was counting them?
