Who is more morally wrong, WG or Punter?

105 posts in this topic

Consider the following scenario which I suspect is very common:

A girl who is in a steady relationship with a boyfriend/husband needs money and decided to work as a WG in secret. She will see 4-5 punters a day.

A Punter who is married or in a relationship, is not sexually satisfied and therefore starts regular visits to WGs also in secret. He would visit a WG every fortnight or so.

Both are deceiving their partners.

But who is more morally wrong?

If "equally wrong" is not an option, who in your opinion gets the vote?

In order to answer this question, try to put yourself in the shoes of the deceived partner and think which case would be more/less bearable/hurtful.

I just asked my hubby this to see if he was of the same mind as me and his opinion was the punter. His reasoning was the same as mine. The Wg is doing it for monetary reasons and in this scenario probably out of neccessity whereas the punter is doing it for purely selfish reason i.e his own pleasure.

In hubby's words "he is going out of his way to find a woman he fancies to have pleasure with whereas the WG doesnt have the same priviledge. He picks a sexy nubile 20 year old where as she may well get lumbered with a fat, sweaty, ugly and obnoxious 65 year old".

(I guess he does listen when I moan lol).

Daft question. The two are mutually exclusive, so it's not like there's a dilemma to be resolved. I think this question only interests people who want to jump up and down, point fingers and shout "EVIL". Especially specifiying the number of punters seen per day - is that supposed to help quantify the morality of a working girl, or is it just helping your fevered imagination?

I'm really not in the mood for walking around parcelling out guilt and blame...

Neither.

The working girl is making money and happy

And me personally, married and seeing working girls regularly I'm happy.

Another thread trying to make wg's and punters feel guilty, well I don't.

not at all... the question is specifically related to the deception element of a partner and not of prostitution as a whole.

I agree with this, both are being equally as deceitful. I'm sure in years and years and years, it'll be acceptable for both anyway, we're evolving morally all the time.

who cares.

I bet we have all thought about this in our own war and have rationalised it. And its private.

generalisation about this is no help

Probably the most sensible response to yet another useless question - phylosophy we don't need when we are interested in sex!

Neither is morally wrong, what is wrong is the narrow-minded, judgemental, prescriptive, prohibitive morality which generally prevails in society.

Another meaningless query

Whose tired old morals are we offending anyway??

The only question that matters is "harm to others"; harm to ourselves is our own damn business

not at all... the question is specifically related to the deception element of a partner and not of prostitution as a whole.

In which case, as long as the person involved can maintain his/her relationship with his/her partner, there's no moral case to answer.

If for some reason we believe in the Judeo/Christian values, both parties are as bad as each other. Adultery is equal to murder is equal to working on the Sabbath etc etc.

I'd like to think there ain't no God

Ah, but even if we assume that adultery is equal to murder, would anyone agree that one murder is equal to 10 murders?

If the girl is working, let's say, 3 days a week, then in a fortnight:

4.5 clients a day x 3 days a week x 2 weeks = 27 moral wrongs

If the punter visits one WG per fortnight:

1 WG x 1 fortnight = 1 moral wrong :D

Therefore the WG is 27 times worse than the punter. :P

P.S. There ain't no God so there ain't no absolute moral judgements. Religion is all a load of bollocks.

Until we can allow people to express their sexuality freely, these questions will arise. A girl who loves sex is still viewed negatively. A man who loves his wife but wants some exploration with a hot girl is still viewed negatively.

When I am supreme overlord of the universe things will be very different.

Sorry, but there is nothing sensible about this question. The only objectionable thing I find about the hypothetical punter and WG is the deception of their partners. That being the case the sin is the same. There is nothing endemically wrong with either party besides the lying. What we are ultimately dealing with are important questions of gender and sexuality to which I answer it is as bad bad when either a woman or man lies, and sex should be fun and enjoyable not caught up in hang ups and guilt.
