Discretion

I've got a question to punters and to escorts.

I'm new to punting and my curious side has got me wondering, how open/discrete are you about your personal life at a booking? Do you use an alternative name/occupation?

I think it was Andy McNab who recommended two levels of cover. The first level should suffice unless you come under sustained interrogation. At that point, you have to appear to 'crack' under the pressure and 'confess' the truth.

Remember: always aim to appear ordinary and inconspicuous - or Andy calls it 'The Grey Man'. Try to blend in and not be noticed on your way to a WG. Don't wear loud shirts, noisy shoes, or a fancy purple hat. Good luck. :D

So would you recommend I dump my Captain Condom baseball cap and Smile If You're About To Be Sucked Off By A Prostitute T-shirt then? :o

I can't be bothered with too much cloak and dagger stuff, I'm simply Tony, just like I know the lady I'm about to see really was christened Delores by her parents Mr and Mrs Cumslut.

I am very discrete if the WG is a stranger to me, less so if i get to know her but still security conscious, a very small percentage of ladies in my experience are dishonest, the problem is i obviously dont know whether a newbie to me is or not so err on the side of caution.

I never use my real name at a punt except on rare occasions.I had a lovely multi hour meet last year with a young EE girl. We both relaxed and she talked about a difficult time she was having generally . After a while chatting she leaned over to me and told me her real name-- she just wanted me to know her as such-- I weakened immediately and told her mine. It was a nice moment but probably silly of me.

Funny thing is ,I have handed over my name to agencies for outcall purposes so they can check the room no. in the hotel !!:D:eek:

Do you use an alternative name/occupation?

I rather think this depends on your skill-set! Remember the unidentified corpse from the King's Cross underground fire disaster? No one reported him missing - he had nothing decimal nothing on him to even suggest who / what he was. Possibly a rather more successful than Anna Chapman spy.

If you can look round when she murmurs lustfully, "Kevin, f+++ me now!" then, by all means use a punting name. Me, I use my real first name, but only give the rest if I am totally confident in the Lady's honesty & professional discretion. Years ago I knew an officer whose job was to survey houses for requisitioning on the outbreak of war (he was a navigator, and later an air-field construction engineer to trade) and he decided to present himself on the front door as the Fire Brigade's Fire Prevention Officer. Good housewives used to ask him sensible questions about extinguishers and fire escapes, so poor bugger, he had to do Fire Prevention at night school at his own expense! All too difficult for me - I stick to my real trade.

I never let on that I am the Chief Constable, as I find it a bit of a passion killer.

I therefore keep my mask and hat on, and leave the patrol car parked two streets away.

As a general rule , I can see no good reason to divulge your true identity on a punt. The lady really doesnt give a damn -- its normally for conversation purposes only. Why risk something when the possible downside far outweighs any advantage ? This is even more the case when you are married.

That's all a bit too cloak and dagger for me. I doubt whether I'd remember what I'd called myself if I picked a false name :D.

I stick to booking in my real first name. It's hard to see what damage can be done with that small bit of info. I've yet to be asked for my surname (even when I have booked hotel outcalls).

If I'm with a new (to me) girl who asks what I do, I'll tell her my real occupation but avoid any specifics like the name of the company I work for.

With the few regulars I have, I am much less circumspect, but it takes time to build up that level of trust.

Well yes if giving only your first name which is one that couldnt lead to your identifcation. Then there is no real difference but if it might make a difference ?

Being married, I do find using quite a few ' cloaks and daggers ' !

Intereseted that you have never needed to give your surname for a hotel outcall ? Must try that and see how I get on.:o

I always ring through hotel switchboard to the room of client before I set off to make sure they are actually staying at the hotel, some hotels require a surname in order for you to be put through. I generally ask for a surname for an outcall hotel booking. Only one person has refused so I would not see them, as I knew the hotel he was staying at would require the surname info.

I guess if you have a real unusual first name, then it might well be worthwhile adopting a pseudonym. Mine is sufficiently common that I don't need to consider an alternative.

Tell me about it :o! That's why I like to keep things as simple as I can so that I don't have to remember too many subterfuges at one time :D.

Hotel outcalls aren't my usual modus operandi, so I'm no expert. I can only think of four I've had in the past 18 months (mixture of indie and agency) but I definitely haven't been asked on any of them.

I can however see why a WG or agency might want to check that I was in the room as promised, so if I was asked I would probably cough up the info. It hasn't been an issue to date though.

Well thats what I thought and hence I found it interesting how Northwinds says he gets away without using his surmane. I presume the indie/agency when they ring ask to speak to MR. john smith , rather than just 'john ' and I presume they dont just ask to be put thru to a room no.

Never done outcalls to my home just to be sure she hasnt got a boyfriend who gunna rob me when Im at work and shes also gunna case my place when shes here.

And if she asks what I do I just reply with work in IT, since most punters apparently do... :D

Dose it really matter ?

If you give your real name or not , how would the WG know it was your real name rather than a false name ?.

Would the WG even care at the end of the day.

A hotel bookings , would the punter not not use a false to check in with ?

I use to work in a hotel for many years and Its so easy to spot toughs checking in for a meeting with a WG or having an affair .

Did we care , no , some that did it regularly and were honest about it , even had a special rate as the room could be cleaned after re used after.

Well also from a safety point of view if anything happens to me God forbid, the hotel number will be recorded on my other phone which I leave at home. Therefore if i was missing they would know where to start making enquiries as it would be last dialled number.

The hotel outcalls I referred to above were all booked using my mobile a day or so in advance. Two were with an agency in Edinburgh and two were with ladies from the other site. In all cases, they simply asked me to call them on the evening of the booking, after I had checked in, with my room number to confirm. I did so and they then turned up at the hotel room at the expected time.

I have read on here that it is common for the escort or agency to ring the client through the hotel switchboard to check he is actually staying in the room he says and I think it is a sensible security measure that I'd be happy to comply with. In that case, I'd imagine that most hotels would want the caller to specify a surname.

It just happens that the WGs/agency I have used didn't work that way.

Yes, I think it has happened once or twice that I have only been required to give the room no but certainly the vast majority of time the agency will ring me directly on the landline in the hotel room --- I just expect it now. I have on occasions used a name similar sounding to own full name but I dont like doing this as it just might cause unnecessary confusion and attention.

I do a few things to hide my identity.

Very few words come out of my mouth during punts these days.

I always absail through the window when I go to see a WG :o

I don't understand the point of making up a false first name. Always makes me laugh when someone leaves a message, asking me to call them back and then when I do it goes to voicemail and 'Dave' turns out to be John Smith, etc etc. Or they forget and tell you a story and their real name slips out.

If you're going to do it, at least be consistent about it!

No, hotels often ask to see a passport or ID card.

I mainly do outcalls. If you are using an agency, you can keep your surname a secret. But if you are seeing an indie then usually it won't be possible to avoid telling the lady your full name. As Olivia points out, if you refuse to divulge your surname, it is highly likely the punt ain't going to happen.
