Indiscreet details in photographs

I have just looked at the profile of a very attractive escort. In one of her photographs her car key fob with the registration number is clearly visible. With a bit more focus I could probably make pout the make of car too. I have mailed her to advise her to remove the picture, and am posting this here as a warning to all escorts to ensure there is no identifying information in the background of your photographs.

That is why I mailed her. She needs to be careful. Anyone with access to the APNR system could trace the car in seconds.

er, no! The police are not allowed to use their databases for personal searches let alone for a mate, that would illicit very serious disciplinary action. I doubt anyone who's a copper is going to risk their job just so that their mate can find out what address some girls car is registered too

I am very well aware that what I suggested is not legal, but there are enough bent coppers who will oblige for a "drink".

I watched an interesting programme a couple of weeks ago where a bent copper tried blackmailing a punter who’d just visited a mobile escort (works from a motorhome).

Amongst his charges was, I believe, misuse of police resources ie the PNC.

This happens from time to time but there are plenty of coppers who feel the risk is worth their "reward". Not just to get escorts or punters details but for revenge, blackmail etc.

It’s easy enough for any of us to check make and model of car from a Reg Number, very indiscreet of her.

The chances of any of us being blackmailed are slim but it’s time for a reminder that we should all be vigilant with regard to our privacy and anonymity. Private browsing mode, use a VPN, dedicated punting phone safety hidden and always delete texts/call history, escorts pics and porn stored securely away from snooping eyes, clear SatNav history... the list goes on.

Turn off “Find My iPhone” if anyone else has your password (NOBODY has mine).

Turn off “Significant Locations” on iPhone
Settings/Privacy/Location Services/System Services/Significant Locations

As I say, the list goes on.....

The interesting programme, I bet.

Whether it's punters or WGs I think that it's always best to be as discrete as we possibly can be. So IMO it was good that the OP has tipped off this WGs that she has displayed her car reg number in one of her pics.
