I doubt it. The owners have introduced the new forum to enable private messaging in the main so it seems. Of course we could start many threads as in the old forum but how that would be received who knows. I might stick my toe in the water.

Hiyas all. Here we go again, nice to see the return of the message board.

I had largely abandoned Punternet when it changed hands, mainly because the forum was dropped. Just popped in occasionally to look at reviews. And today I spotted the link in the nav bar.

Nice to have it back, I hope it develops and is allowed to remain. As stated above, best behaviour everyone, if we want to keep it.

Hmm, I am not sure this forum will thrive when so far 70% of the contributes are either saying glad the forum's back or people exercising their brains by finding a word with some link or other to another word...

Yes, I thought it was looking a bit sluggish too. Still, it's early days.

Thinking of life, I must confess here that it was I who, having requested that Galahad ban me for life, phoned Chloe Kisses and asked if she could provide a bath of smegma (she will understand the reference) for me to lounge around in.

I was hoping she'd see the funny side of it, but alas, she didn't. She did, however, tell me to get a life, which is exactly what I did. Or, perhaps it would be more accurate to say that I went back to life after spending too much time on the old forum.

Anyway, best wishes to all of you! Go well. Always buy the best decanter you can afford and remember that we are all a very long time dead.

I remember the jape very well and, alas, the aftermath.

There was much fun to be had in the heady days of the old Punternet. I wonder if a few more of the old guard will rejoin under new monikers?

Mr Whisker, I work on the assumption that a new moniker implies the poster does not wish to be affiliated with any previous moniker they once had - although
I see OmarKhayyam has indeed introduced himself as Zipless. I seem to remember he was always a witty poster in these parts and generally well liked so hopefully this new forum will gather momentum as a fun and informative place to hang out.

Before you ask, I should of said I was neither “smiths” nor “JimmyRedCab”

Was gutted when browsing the net last month to see Punternet had not only changed hands but no message board as well, this surprise stumble after a dirty dream has brightened my Easter weekend. I hope that all the oldies return.

Good indeed to see the punternet message board back. I do hope the old faithfuls find their way back. I tried another well known board but as has already been stated here the culture on there is a bit ‘toxic’. Punternet always had great conversations, humor and information shared in a friendly manner.

I may not have got the instructions right at the time but my identity only changed from my forum name to my review name because the workings of signing up didn't seem to let me sign in otherwise.

where did everyone go when this was not here, I liked the regional forums as well as one could easily pass info to others who went to the same places.

The old forum was laid out really well but it got totally fucked up over the last couple of years. A real shame as rewind a few more years and it was a great place, full of sage wisdom.

I briefly joined UKP, pure poison over there.

I’m fortunate in that I have a couple of pals to talk punting with but many guys only have a forum where they can chat about their secret life. I’m glad the new owners have brought the Punternet forum back and hopefully it’ll grow into a valuable resource.

Further to my comment about 70% of the comments so far being on two non-punting topics, about 72% of reviews (based on 100 most recent) are for London or Milton Keynes. Nothing wrong with so many reviews being done for those areas but it leaves the rest of Britain pretty sparsely served, which is a worry for the health of this much welcomed site and board. The reviews section is up against a hugely prolific review section elsewhere (and I don't mean the unreliable AW reviews).

I will take your word for it but I suspect there were more reports being written, even if the amount was declining.

I would say reviews are key for the site to thrive and the forum could be key for upping the number of reviews. I think regional forums as mentioned would help this.

Glad to see a new forum and the return of old friends such as Coventrypunter, Rationalman (previously Robert49) and Chloe Kisses - to name but 3.

On the old forum I was Bob the Builder.

Far easier and quicker to write reviews elsewhere and they are on the site immediately.
Also, can include an AW photo and reference to other reviews.

Handy if a lady is on tour and only visiting for a couple of days.
Post a review on this site and it may appear within 3/4 days, if you are lucky.

Is their a good punting scene there other than the infamous red light district of Amsterdam?

Amsterdam has the most escorts but there are also escorts in Rotterdam, The Hague, Eindhoven, Utrecht.

I think there are even a few escorts in Groningen.

So if you will come in the Netherlands you will not have to confine yourself to the rumping pumping in Amsterdam only!
