London soho walk ups - a thing of the past?

London soho walk ups - a thing of the past?

I’ve been away from London for a couple of years and all my previous links to walk ups are no longer online. Now I’m coming back and want to see the girls of soho again. What happened, have all the walk ups been shut down or are they still around?
Trying to see some Thais and maybe big boobed Lucy, if she’s still around. Or go exploring new ground. spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

I really don't know I do remember some well publicised raids a few years ago, perhaps a Google can help you?

There may well be a few places still operating but Soho has been undergoing a large-scale smartening up process (it's a prime central London location after all) so the walk ups have been diminishing in number for many years.

I believe there was a massive raid last summer or thereabouts and a large number of the remaining walk-ups were shut down. I think many haven't re-opened although there remains a scene more on the south side of Shaftesbury Avenue now.

Soho was the punting ground of my youth but less so in recent years. That said, those walk-ups always offered astounding value. As recently as a couple of years ago you could get a pump and dump for £30 odd which, while it wasn't exactly an engaging experience certainly provided immediate relief.

The raids are a minor factor IMHO, but the main reason would have to be the corporate gentrification of Soho.

The walkups aren't the only places disappearing - so are the clip joints, wankmag shops, and the old venues which gave the area its general reputation. Madame Jojos closed a few years ago, and now it appears that even the Windmill is going to be turned into a fucking winebar.

Property owners are not going to say no to an offer they can't refuse when some developer offers them big bucks to replace their grubby buildings with new 20 floor developments, especially if they can't increase the rent they get from the ladies who use their flats. Likewise, you can rest assured that Westminster City Council is going to happily help them along if it means they have an opportunity to rake in a major windfall in the guise of greater takings from council tax and business rates. If it means sanitising the area and ensuring that it is no longer deemed a grubby cesspit of humanity, all the better.

In the end, it is simple supply and demand. Clients may remember their cheap shags with great fondness, but if prices don't rise, you have to expect the providers of those cheap shags to be priced out of the property market.

Only did it the once to tick the bucket list so to speak. Walked from the lower flat and then went upstairs to fuck a very attractive and curvy Romanian girl. Quite a buzz dodging the passers by on the street and then going up for a good cheap fuck. Follow @sohoscarlett on Twitter. She works 70a Berwick Street and she posts her schedule on twitter. Gorgeous English girl and I wish she was working when I was in London the other week. A bit more expensive than most but you get what you pay for.

Are you serious? You walk up the stairs, knock on the door, pay, and fuck the girl behind it. Then you walk back down the stairs and leave.

I mean really.

More graphically, you walk up (hint: that's why it's called a "walk up") and knock on the door. A maid answers it and shows you into a room. As often as not in Soho there'll be some sort of menu/pricelist on the wall. The girl will come in and you tell her what you want and pay her. She'll then take the money back to the maid and tell you to get changed while she's doing so. When she comes back, you do what you've paid for. When you've finished, you leave. That's about it. Personally, I've always found walk-ups are basically good for a cheap pump and dump. Not really GFE in most cases.

On the sad day that the death of Python Terry Jones has been announced, I can't fully tell friends my tale of having him queue behind me at a cash point as, while he had been just walking along with some friends, I was drawing the cash to see a then regular escort a couple of doors down the street...

I started going to various walk ups in the late 70's and there were a plethora of them in the streets around Wardour Street,Dean Street,Broadwick Strret,Old Compton Street and many more.My particular favourite was a flat run by a French Madame just off Broadwick Street. She worked herself but had two young, fit Parisian girls there for two weeks at a time.In those days no condoms but the strange ritual of washing your cock in the sink with strong soap or some sort of cleansing liquid.Often went before going to The Marquee Club,100 Club or Ronnie Scotts.

crack down on tart cards.

The market has changed, i guess.
people can hire online, and shit changes.
I know tart cards still exist despite the Mayoral ban, but it probably worked better in the day when people could literally just walk-up and not text or e-mail a lady on the go.

I see her twitter account has just been suspended. Do you know if she posts her availability on any other social media or forum?
